Tripura Government signed MOU with Tata Technologies for ITI Development
Tripura Government:In a groundbreaking move aimed at transforming the vocational education landscape, the Tripura government has announced a collaboration with Tata Technologies to modernize 19 Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) across the state. This ambitious initiative seeks to enhance employment opportunities for students by aligning their skills with industry demands and upgrading the ITI infrastructure.
Transport Minister Sushanta Chowdhury revealed the state’s intent to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Tata Technologies Limited, emphasizing the partnership’s potential to foster skill development and job readiness. The collaboration will introduce 11 new trades or subjects to the ITIs, making the training curriculum more diverse and industry-relevant.
Projected investment of ₹683.27 crore
This modernization effort comes with a projected investment of ₹683.27 crore. Remarkably, Tata Technologies will shoulder 86% of this cost, while the Tripura government will contribute the remaining 14%. Beyond this, the state government has allocated an additional ₹107.6 crore for the development of ITI infrastructure, ensuring the institutes are equipped with state-of-the-art facilities to meet global training standards.
