The advanced teaching hospital is a majestic building providing a land mark not to be missed on the National Highway No. 44 at the outskirts of Ambala Cantt. It has got a capacity of 750 beds at Present. It is the beginning of a vision leading ultimately to an advanced postgraduate institute in this region. The hospital has an entrance lobby which provides a splendid view and a visual comfort to the patients, having enough space to seat more than 1000 patients and their attendants waiting for their registration, buying medicines at the pharmacy on one side or simply waiting for the relatives. The Out Patient Departments are divided grossly into surgical, medical and all other allied disciplines for all the subjects of undergraduate medical course along with the specialty clinics. The OPDs are best equipped for examining the outdoor patients. Lifts for the patients and ramp for fire protective services and for handicapped persons has been provided.

The emergency is conveniently located close to the main entrance from the national highway for easy and quick access to the emergency. An emergency labour room along with the main gynecological OPD is again conveniently located for easy access to the female patients. The ICU complex consists of medical Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Intensive Cardiac Care Unit (ICCU), Respiratory Intensive Care Unit (RICU), Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU), Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), Burn Unit and a Renal dialysis unit.
