Agartala Government Medical College (AGMC) is a government medical college located on the lap of Agartala, the capital city of Tripura. It is at Kunjaban near the Malancha Niwas, home of the Manikya Dynasty in Agartala. The college is attached with the Govind Ballabh Pant Hospital (G.B. Pant hospital), which is the hospital of the college. It is completely run by the Government of Tripura. The college was established in 2005 and the foundation stone was laid by the Prime Minister of India, Dr. Manmohan Singh. The college is recognized by the Medical Council of India (MCI) and is affiliated to Tripura University. Intake in MBBS 125 seat.
The Agartala Government Medical College is situated in the G B Pant Hospital campus in a newly constructed building. It is fully equipped with Laboratories, Dissection Theatres, Lecture Theatres, Central Library, Common Room, Cafeteria, Intercom facilities, Central Workshop, Mechanized Laundry etc.This Institute is recognized & approved by Medical Council of India, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, New Delhi and affiliated to Tripura University (A Central University).
