According to an affidavit from the health department dated February 24 and submitted to the Gujarat High Court, a government district hospital in Anand is anticipated to be open by August 2025. The declaration was made in response to a division bench of the HC expressing surprise that despite Anand’s incorporation as a district in 1997, there was no government district hospital.
Prakash Patni, joint secretary of the health department, stated in his affidavit that the project implementation unit (health) had developed a schedule for the hospital’s development.
The planning and designing for the construction at Anand is anticipated to be finished by the end of this month, following a revised administrative approval for the project. After that, it is anticipated that the procedure for obtaining a bid and subsequently starting work, including issuing a work order, will be finished by October 2023.
The hospital’s construction is anticipated to be finished by March 2025, and it is anticipated to be operating by August 2025, according to the health department. Despite receiving land allotment in 2016, the civil hospital planned for the Anand area has yet to open, according to a public interest lawsuit filed last year.
