Bharatratna Atalbihari Vajpayee Medical College Pune (BAVMC) is the first medical college of Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) through a joint initiative of PMC and PMC-MET (Medical Education trust). BAVMC has been granted the Letter of Permission (LOP) by National Medical Commission (NMC) of India vide letter number NMC/UG/2020/000032/012495 for intake capacity of 100 students. It is affiliated to Maharashtra University of Medical Sciences (MUHS), Nashik, vide letter number MUHS/PB/UG/P-1/First/504/2022.
The college is located in the heart of Pune city. It is one and half kilometers from famous historical monument Shaniwarwada and about 2 kilometers from Pune Station.
Kamla Nehru Hospital (KNH) is a 400-bedded multispecialty hospital and is affiliated to BAVMC which is located at Mangalwar Peth, Pune. It is one of the biggest hospitals run by PMC and has good clinical material available for training of the medical graduates. Central Clinical Laboratory (CCL) consists of Pathology (Hematology, Clinical pathology, Cytology & Histopathology), Biochemistry and Microbiology which is well equipped and caters to the needs of patients.
