BSc Nursing Seats available for choice filling in Round 2 of UG counseling
According to latest developments, there won’t be any BSc Nursing seats available in Round 1 of NEET UG Counseling 2023, according to the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC). The MCC, which is tasked with assigning seats for various medical and dentistry programs in government-run/aided and deemed-to-be-university colleges, works under the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) and reports to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare of the Government of India. Due to some nursing colleges failing to submit their seats on the MCC portal for Round 1 of counseling, this decision has been made. As a result, these seats will now be up for selection during Round 2 of the UG counseling process run by MCC. Male candidates are encouraged not to select any of the colleges on the MCC’s list that are only open to female applicants while they are receiving counseling.
No Seats Available for BSc Nursing in Round 1
It was determined that the BSc Nursing seats could not be filled in Round 1 of counseling as the NEET UG Counselling 2023 got underway. This problem is caused by certain nursing colleges not submitting their seats to the MCC site for the initial round of counseling. Due to this situation, there were no open BSc Nursing seats during the first round of counseling. However, prospective nursing students shouldn’t fret because the MCC will make these open seats available during Round 2 of UG counseling.
Colleges Only Accepting Female Applicants
The MCC has produced a list of institutions that only accept female applicants. Male applicants are discouraged from making these colleges their top selections because these institutions do not admit them. ‘FEMALE ONLY’ colleges are those on the list that come after:
- BPS Govt. Medical College, Sonepat
- SVIMS- Sri Padmavathi Medical College for Women, Tirupati
- Lady Hardinge Medical College (LHMC), New Delhi
- Symbiosis Medical College for Women, Pune
Only female applicants are eligible for admission to these universities. Male candidates who initially selected these colleges must update their selections to eliminate the institutions that only accept women before locking their preferences. During the seat processing phase, only female candidates will be given seats in these colleges.
The Male Candidate Process
Male applicants taking part in NEET UG Counseling 2023 should use caution when making decisions. Male students are recommended not to choose the aforementioned universities throughout the counseling procedure because they are only for female candidates. Male applicants can improve their chances of getting accepted to other qualified colleges that accept both male and female applicants by bypassing the female-only institutions.
The MCC’s (Medical Counseling Committee) Function
In India, the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) is essential in determining how many seats are allocated for various medical and dentistry programs. The MCC, which is governed by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) and the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, is in charge of delivering online counseling based on the NEET results of the applicants. Merit, eligibility for reservations, and the candidate’s preference list are among the many considerations addressed during the counseling process.
In conclusion, the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has announced that due to the non-participation of several nursing institutes, BSc Nursing seats will not be accessible in Round 1 of NEET UG Counseling in 2023. However, MCC will offer these seats in Round 2 of the undergraduate counseling process. Additionally, male candidates are advised from choosing the colleges marked “FEMALE ONLY” on the MCC list because only female candidates are accepted there. Aspiring medical students can prepare for a fruitful career in the healthcare industry by adhering to the MCC’s rules and participating wisely in the counseling process.
