20 AYUSH Medical Colleges did not get recognition by NCISM
Meta description – 3 Unani and 17 Ayurvedic medical colleges included, will not be able to take admission in this session2024-25
In Lucknow, 20 AYUSH colleges in UP have not been granted recognition by the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine (NCISM) to conduct courses this academic session. This means that 1,390 seats have been reduced as a result. The reason behind the lack of recognition is the insufficient faculty and other essential facilities not meeting the required standards. Consequently, three Unani medical colleges and 17 Ayurvedic medical colleges will not be able to admit students for the academic session 2024-25. As of now, the admission process for 7,414 seats in AYUSH colleges for the current session has already commenced.
Three private Unani medical institutions have lost their recognition: Sham-e-Gausia Minority Unani Medical College in Sambhal, Hakim Rais Unani Medical College, and Allama Iqbal Unani Medical College in Muzaffarnagar. These three Unani medical colleges collectively offered 170 seats for the Bachelor of Unani Medicine and Surgery (BUMS) course.
In this session, 17 Ayurvedic Medical Colleges, including Government Ayurvedic Medical College Atarra Banda, and 16 private ones such as Santushti Ayurvedic Medical College Mirzapur, FS Ayurvedic Medical College Firozabad, KVS Institute of Ayurvedic Medical College Ghazipur, Baba Vishwanath Ayurvedic Medical College Azamgarh, JD Ayurvedic Medical College Aligarh, Pacific College and Research Center Gorakhpur, KV Ayurvedic Medical College Agra, Dr. Anar Singh Ayurvedic Medical College Farrukhabad, Sham-e-Gausia Ayurvedic Medical College Ghazipur, Shanti Institute of Medical College Ballia, Sanjeevani Ayurvedic Medical College Amroha, Dr. Vijay Ayurvedic Medical College Varanasi, SNK Ayurvedic Medical College Ghazipur, ANK Ayurvedic College Bareilly, and Prem Raghu Ayurvedic Medical College Hathras, have not received approval to run the Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) course.
