According to latest developments, there won’t be any BSc Nursing seats available in Round 1 of NEET UG Counseling 2023, according to the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC). The MCC, which is tasked with assigning seats for various medical and dentistry programs in government-run/aided and deemed-to-be-university colleges, works under the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) and reports to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare of the Government of India. Due to some nursing colleges failing to submit their seats on the MCC portal for Round 1 of counseling, this decision has been made. As a result, these seats will now be up for selection during Round 2 of the UG counseling process run by MCC. Male candidates are encouraged not to select any of the colleges on the MCC’s list that are only open to female applicants while they are receiving counseling.
No Seats Available for BSc Nursing in Round 1
It was determined that the BSc Nursing seats could not be filled in Round 1 of counseling as the NEET UG Counselling 2023 got underway. This problem is caused by certain nursing colleges not submitting their seats to the MCC site for the initial round of counseling. Due to this situation, there were no open BSc Nursing seats during the first round of counseling. The MCC has produced a list of institutions that only accept female applicants. Male applicants are discouraged from making these colleges their top selections because these institutions do not admit them. ‘FEMALE ONLY’ colleges are those on the list that come after:
- BPS Govt. Medical College, Sonepat
- SVIMS- Sri Padmavathi Medical College for Women, Tirupati
- Lady Hardinge Medical College (LHMC), New Delhi
- Symbiosis Medical College for Women, Pune
Only female applicants are eligible for admission to these universities. Male candidates who initially selected these colleges must update their selections to eliminate the institutions that only accept women before locking their preferences. During the seat processing phase, only female candidates will be given seats in these colleges.

Male students are recommended not to choose the aforementioned universities throughout the counseling procedure because they are only for female candidates.
