JEE Main 2023 Admit Card: JEE Main Session-2 exam admit card released

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the admit card for JEE Main Session-2 Exam 2023. Candidates appearing for the exam can download their admit card by visiting the official website of JEE Main at jeemain.nta.nic.in. The exam is scheduled to start from 6th April and will be conducted on 6, 8, 10, 11, 12, 13,jee main, and 15 April 2023.

 

To download the JEE Main 2023 Admit Card, candidates need to use their application number and date of birth. The admit card is an essential document that candidates must carry with them to the exam center, along with a valid ID proof.

Four new departments at Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Medical College in Indore

Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Medical College (MGMMC) in Indore has started four new departments, including two in its Super Speciality (SS) Hospital. The move comes after the installation of high-end equipment worth INR 4 crore ($534,000) to support complex tumour surgeries, among other procedures.

 

The new departments are Head and Neck surgery, Radiodiagnosis, Emergency Medicine and Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PMR). The first two have been set up in the SS hospital, while the other two are broader departments.

 

The SS hospital has received a high-grade microscope, drills, hand equipment and other tools, worth INR 2 crore, to support surgeries requiring intricate procedures such as joining small vessels. The equipment will be used in the Head and Neck surgery and Radiodiagnosis departments.

 

Dr Sumit Shukla, Superintendent of the SS Hospital, said that the new departments would prove beneficial for patients. The increase in surgeries performed in the hospital has created a need for additional departments, he added.

 

The college has appointed at least 22 faculty members in three days to support the new departments, and the purchase of another INR 2 crore microscope has been made for the Emergency Medicine department. This microscope will be provided to the plastic surgery department for performing various surgeries.

 

The Emergency Medicine and PMR departments have been added to the list of compulsory departments through a Gazette of India published on October 28, 2020. Medical colleges are required to set up these departments from the 2022-2023 session.

 

Dr Sanjay Dixit, Dean of MGMMC, said that the four new departments, including the two in the super speciality hospital, have been set up for the betterment of patients.

MHT-CET: 

The Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (MHT-CET) is a state-level entrance exam for admission to BEngineering, BPharma, and agriculture courses in colleges and universities in Maharashtra. The MHT-CET 2023 exam is tentatively scheduled to be conducted between May 9 and May 20, and the application form is yet to be released.

 

TS EAMCET: 

The Telangana State Engineering, Agriculture & Medical Common Entrance Test (TS EAMCET) is a state-level entrance exam for admission to engineering, agricultural, and pharmacy courses in colleges and universities in Telangana. The TS EAMCET 2023 exam for engineering is scheduled between May 12 to 14, and the exams for agricultural and pharmacy are between May 10 and 11. The last date for submission of TS EAMCET 2023 online applications without a late fee is April 10.

 

AP EAMCET: 

The Andhra Pradesh Engineering, Agriculture & Medical Common Entrance Test (AP EAMCET) is a state-level entrance exam for admission to engineering and pharmacy courses in colleges and universities in Andhra Pradesh. The AP EAMCET 2023 exam for engineering is scheduled between May 15 to 18, and the exams for agriculture and pharmacy are between May 22 to 23.

 

KEAM: 

The Kerala Engineering Architecture Medical (KEAM) is a state-level entrance exam for admission to engineering and pharmacy courses in colleges and universities in Kerala. The entrance exam for engineering and pharmacy will be held on May 17.

1). GSK Scholars Programme 

GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) Pharmaceuticals Ltd. (India) has introduced the GSK Scholars Programme as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility initiative. This program aims to support financially constrained and meritorious students who aspire to pursue a career in medicine. 

 

Tentative registration month: March.

 

Eligibility Criteria:

To be eligible for the program, 

  • Applicants must be citizens of India and pursuing their first year of the MBBS program in government colleges during the academic year 2022-23. 
  • Obtained at least 65% marks in their Class 12 board examinations 
  • Annual family income should be below INR 6,00,000 from all sources.

 

Selected candidates can receive up to INR 1,00,000 per year for the duration of their MBBS program. The total award amount can go up to INR 4,50,000 over four and a half years.

2). The Nationwide Education and Scholarship Test (NEST Senior) is a popular scholarship test for medical students.

 

To be eligible for the NEST scholarship, it is mandatory for students to appear for this test. 

The test is conducted in two categories – Senior 1 and Senior 2. 

 

Tentative registration period: September to November.

 

Eligibility Criteria:

  • For Category ‘Senior I’, first and second-year students of MBBS/BAMS/BHMS/BDS/Engineering or other courses, and Class 12 (Science stream) are eligible. 
  • For Category ‘Senior II’, third and fourth-year B.Sc., B.Tech., and MBBS students are eligible. 

 

Only bonafide degree students registered at colleges/universities and appearing in the final exams of the current academic year can apply.

 

Selected candidates can receive a tuition fee of up to INR 40,000.

TS EAMCET 2023 Engineering Exam Date Rescheduled to May 12-14, Agriculture and Pharmacy Dates Unchanged

The Telangana State Council of Higher Education has revised the TS EAMCET 2023 Engineering Exam Date. The exam, which was originally scheduled from May 7 to May 9, 2023, will now be conducted on May 12, 13, and 14, 2023. The revised exam dates were announced to avoid any inconvenience to candidates appearing for both the TS 

 

EAMCET and the NEET UG Exam, which is scheduled for May 7, 2023. The exam dates for the Agriculture and Pharmacy streams remain unchanged.

 

Candidates who have applied for the TS EAMCET 2023 Engineering stream are advised to take note of the revised exam dates. It is important to note that the exam dates for the Agriculture and Pharmacy streams remain the same as the original schedule, which is from May 10 to May 11, 2023.

Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot approves proposal to set up three new medical colleges in the state

TAFRC to Review Fee Structures of Private Unaided Professional Institutes in Telangana

The Telangana Admission and Fee Regulatory Committee (TAFRC) has proposed a review of the fee structures for private unaided professional institutes in the state. The review will cover a block period from 2023-2024 to 2025-2026 and will include various courses such as undergraduate, postgraduate, and super-specialty medical courses, UG and PG dental courses, nursing, BAMS, BHMS, homeopathy, and several paramedical courses.

 

To facilitate the review, TAFRC has asked the management of concerned private un-aided professional colleges in Telangana to submit relevant data for the financial year 2022-2023, along with audited financial statements for the years 2022-23, 2021-22, and 2020-21. The deadline for submission of the relevant data, along with the fee proposals, is April 30th, 2023. The data should be submitted online at http://tafrconline.telangana.gov.in/, as per the guidelines provided on the website. Online submissions can be made from April 1st, 2023, onwards. The prescribed processing charges, as mentioned in the guidelines, must be paid through the online payment gateway.

 

TAFRC has warned that any institute that fails to submit the required information will not be permitted to collect any fee. Institutes that are unresponsive or do not provide statements of income and expenditure, audited balance sheets, requirements for developmental needs for the immediately preceding year, particulars of expenditure incurred on salaries and infrastructure, and other specified particulars (with supporting bills, vouchers, or receipts, etc.) will be held accountable for not complying with the TAFRC’s regulations.

Registrations for Counselling Process NEET PG 2023

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) will soon commence the counselling process for NEET PG 2023 in Delhi. Interested candidates must register online via the MCC website www.mcc.nic.in. Any registration submitted through a different mode will not be accepted. The counselling process comprises various stages such as online registration, fee payment, choice filling, seat allotment, and reporting of allotted seats.

 

MCC conducts counseling for the following –

  1. 50% seats of All India Quota

All India Quota Counselling 

The AIQ counselling typically comprises four rounds, namely Round 1, Round 2, AIQ Mop-up Rounds, and AIQ Stray Vacancy Round. Those candidates who have cleared the NEET PG examination conducted by the National Board of Examination (NBE) and secured a rank in the All India Quota will be eligible to participate in the counselling process.

Delhi University Seats – 

50% of seats in the All India Quota are contributed by Delhi University. As for the remaining 50% of seats, candidates who have completed their MBBS from DU are eligible for a 50% Internal Quota at Delhi University.

 

Aligarh Muslim University Seats – 

Half of the seats in the All India Quota are contributed by AMU. The other half of the seats are reserved for candidates who have completed their MBBS from AMU, which are known as internal seats, and amount to 50% of the total seats available in AMU.

 

Banaras Hindu University Seats- 

Half of the seats in the All India Quota are provided by BHU. The other 50% of seats are reserved for candidates who have completed their MBBS/BDS from BHU, and who are eligible for 50% of internal seats in BHU.
