GATE 2025 Application Deadline Extended by IIT Roorkee: Last Date without Late Fee is October 3
The application deadline for GATE 2025 has been extended by IIT Roorkee to October 3, 2024, without the need for a late fee. The final date is October 7, 2024, and there will be a late fee. Applying candidates can be done through the official website. Under the direction of the Ministry of Education’s National Coordination Board (NCB), IISc Bengaluru and seven other IITs will work together to administer the GATE 2025 exam.
The GATE 2025 exam is slated for February 1, 2, 15, and 16, 2025. On March 19, 2025, the results will be made public. The ability to download admit cards will commence on January 2, 2025.
What is GATE?
GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) is a prestigious national-level examination aimed at assessing candidates’ knowledge across undergraduate subjects in Engineering, Technology, Science, Architecture, and Humanities. The exam is administered jointly by IISc Bengaluru and seven IITs—Bombay, Delhi, Guwahati, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras, and Roorkee—under the National Coordination Board, which functions under the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, Government of India.
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates eligible for GATE include:
- Students in their third year or later of an undergraduate program.
- Those who hold a government-recognized degree in fields such as Engineering, Technology, Architecture, Science, Commerce, Arts, or Humanities.
Application Fee Details
The application fee varies by category:
- Female/SC/ST/PwD candidates: Rs 900 per paper.
- Other candidates, including foreign nationals: Rs 1800 per paper.
