GATE 2025 Application Deadline Extended by IIT Roorkee: Last Date without Late Fee is October 3

The application deadline for GATE 2025 has been extended by IIT Roorkee to October 3, 2024, without the need for a late fee. The final date is October 7, 2024, and there will be a late fee. Applying candidates can be done through the official website. Under the direction of the Ministry of Education’s National Coordination Board (NCB), IISc Bengaluru and seven other IITs will work together to administer the GATE 2025 exam.

The GATE 2025 exam is slated for February 1, 2, 15, and 16, 2025. On March 19, 2025, the results will be made public. The ability to download admit cards will commence on January 2, 2025.

What is GATE?

GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) is a prestigious national-level examination aimed at assessing candidates’ knowledge across undergraduate subjects in Engineering, Technology, Science, Architecture, and Humanities. The exam is administered jointly by IISc Bengaluru and seven IITs—Bombay, Delhi, Guwahati, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras, and Roorkee—under the National Coordination Board, which functions under the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, Government of India.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates eligible for GATE include:

  • Students in their third year or later of an undergraduate program.
  • Those who hold a government-recognized degree in fields such as Engineering, Technology, Architecture, Science, Commerce, Arts, or Humanities.

Application Fee Details

The application fee varies by category:

  • Female/SC/ST/PwD candidates: Rs 900 per paper.
  • Other candidates, including foreign nationals: Rs 1800 per paper.

  2. Click on the ‘Apply Online’ tab.
  3. Complete the registration process.
  4. Fill out the required details, pay the application fee, and submit the form.

GATE 2025 registration dates released at gate2025.iitr.ac.in

The registration dates for GATE 2025 have been officially released on the GATE 2025 website: gate2025.iitr.ac.in. The application process will commence on August 24, 2024, and will continue until September 26, 2024. Candidates will be able to fill out and submit their applications once the login window opens in August on the aforementioned website.

GATE, or the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering, is a prestigious national-level examination designed to assess comprehensive understanding in various undergraduate subjects across multiple disciplines, including engineering, technology, architecture, science, commerce, arts, and humanities. The examination is scheduled to take place from February 1 to February 16, 2025.

Important Information for GATE 2025 Applicants

To complete the online application form for GATE 2025, candidates will need to provide the following information and documents:

Required Information:

  • Personal Details: This includes name, date of birth, personal mobile number, parents’ names, and their mobile numbers.
    • The name provided in the application must match exactly with the name on the valid photo ID.
    • The GATE 2025 scorecard will be issued based on the name entered in the application form.
    • Avoid using prefixes or titles (e.g., Mr, Mrs, Dr, Prof, Capt, etc.) in the application.
  • Address for Communication: Including PIN code.
  • Eligibility Degree Details: Information about the degree that qualifies the candidate for GATE.
  • GATE Papers: Selection of the papers and their codes the candidate wishes to appear for.
  • Exam Centre Preferences: Choice of any three cities from the same zone for the examination center.
  • Fee Payment Details: Information for net banking, debit card, credit card, or UPI.

Documents Required:

  • Photograph: A high-quality, passport-sized color photograph with a white background, showing the frontal part of the face (eyes, nose, lips, and forehead). The photograph should be in JPG/JPEG format, with a size not exceeding 1 MB.
  • Signature: A high-quality image of the candidate’s signature in black or dark blue ink, with a size not exceeding 1 MB.
  • Category Certificate: If applicable, a scanned copy of the category certificate (SC, ST) in PDF format.
  • PwD Certificate: If applicable, a scanned copy of the PwD certificate in PDF format.
  • Dyslexia Certificate: If applicable, a scanned copy of the dyslexia certificate in PDF format.
  • Valid Photo ID: A scanned copy of a valid photo identity document such as Aadhaar UID (preferred), passport, PAN card, voter ID, or driving license. The ID must display the candidate’s name, date of birth, and a unique ID number. This photo ID is required for verification at the examination hall.

Candidates must ensure that all uploaded documents are clear and legible. Incomplete or unreadable documents could lead to delays in processing the application or potential rejection of the candidature.
