Chamarajanagar Institute of Medical Sciences is a government-run college in Karnataka which was founded in 2016. The Chamarajanagar institute of medical sciences is an Autonomous Institute of Govt of Karnataka. The CIMS is affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences-RGUHS, Karnataka, and recognized by National Medical Commission (NMC), India. The College has an annual intake of 150 MBBS seats. Chamrajnagar is the southernmost and third least populous district of Karnataka. Most of the district lies in the leeward region of the Nilgiris and consists of mainly semi-arid rain-dependent flatlands along with forested hills

As first batch of MBBS graduates are passing out final exam in April 2021, new 30728.00 Sq. meter magnum 450 bedded hospital with 9 operation theatres, 30 bedded Trauma and emergency department and all Out patient and in patient department along with Critical care and super-specialty departments like cardiology, nephron-urology, neurology is ready to serve the medical and surgical needs of the population.
