Ananda Social & Educational Trust (R) was established in the year 1980 by a group of likeminded people belonging to Scheduled Caste with the aims and objectives of promoting and imparting professional education in the field of health services to underprivileged and downtrodden people of the society. The main motto of the organization is to extend maximum assistance to economically weaker sections of the society. In accordance with its aims and objectives, the Trust established medical college & hospital named after Bharata Ratna Dr.B.R. Ambedkar during the year 1981,which is situated at Kadugondanahalli area (near R.T.Nagar) in the northern part of Bengaluru city with a intake capacity of 100 seats to Under Graduate (MBBS) Course and Post Graduate courses in 18 disciplines. The College is affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Karnataka and recognized by National Medical Commission (erstwhile Medical Council of India), New Delhi. The Trust has also established a dental college in the name and style of Mathrushri Ramabai Ambedkar Dental College & Hospital (1986), Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Institute of Nursing (1988) and Dr. B.R. Ambedkar College of Physiotherapy and Allied Health Sciences. Infrastructures & facilities: The College & hospital is located in a lush green 25 acres of land in the heart of the city, attached with 750 bedded hospital, separate hostel facilities for boys & girls, staff quarters within its campus.
