The questions Indian students and parents ask us most often.
Indian students planning to study in India or abroad, and their parents or co-applicants, can use it to estimate loan eligibility, EMI and total repayment before applying.
Yes. Many lenders finance studies abroad, covering tuition, living costs and travel. Approval depends on the course, university, country, loan amount and the co-applicant's financial profile.
It is the repayment holiday, usually the course duration plus a few months after it. Interest generally keeps accruing during this time, and this calculator shows the moratorium interest and the principal when your EMIs begin.
Margin money is the share of the total education cost that the student or family contributes. The lender finances the rest. You can set the margin percentage in the calculator.
FOIR (Fixed Obligation to Income Ratio) is the share of monthly income that can go towards loan EMIs. Lenders use it to decide income-based eligibility, so existing EMIs lower the loan you can get.
It depends on the lender and the loan amount. Many lenders offer collateral-free loans up to a limit, while higher amounts usually need security. Check current terms with your lender.
Interest paid on an education loan can be eligible for a deduction under Section 80E of the Income Tax Act under the old tax regime. Please confirm with a tax advisor.
No. The result is an estimate. Final eligibility, interest rate and terms are decided by the lender after reviewing your documents.
