JEE Advanced 2025: The Joint Admission Board (JAB) has reversed its earlier decision to increase the number of attempts for JEE Advanced from two to three.
As of November 18, 2024, candidates will again be limited to a maximum of two consecutive attempts for the exam, reinstating the rule from prior years.
This change nullifies the earlier update made on November 5, which had temporarily increased the attempt limit to three.
A month after adding the number of attempts for the Joint Entrance Examination Advanced (JEE Advanced) from two to three this time, the Joint Admission Board (JAB) has decided to return to the former eligibility criterion concerning the number of attempts for JEE Advanced.
U-turn from attempt 3 to 2 Consecutive year
The Joint Admission Board (JAB) has decided to reinstate the former eligibility criterion regarding the number of attempts in JEE (Advanced), relieving the criterion outlined in the Press Release dated November 5, 2024. This decision was made after careful consideration of colorful contending conditions during the JAB meeting held on November 15, 2024. Accordingly, the earlier eligibility criteria that have been in place since 2013 will be restored. All additional eligibility requirements will stay the same.
preliminarily, campaigners were confined to two attempts over two successive times. This regulation has now been changed.
The age criteria apply to campaigners born on or after October 1, 2000. SC, ST, and PwD campaigners are granted a five- time age relaxation, meaning they should have been born on or after October 1, 1995. The other eligibility conditions for JEE Advanced 2025 continue to be unchanged.
