Undergraduate Program: MBBS

  • Duration: 5.5 years (including one-year internship)
  • Seats: 150 seats per year
  • Eligibility:
    • Candidates must have passed 12th grade (or equivalent) with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as subjects.
    • Candidates must qualify the NEET UG exam conducted by NTA.
    • Minimum age of 17 years on or before 31st December of the year of admission.

Postgraduate Programs: MD, MS, & PG Diplomas

MIMS offers various postgraduate programs in medical specialties through the NEET PG counselling process. The programs are designed to provide in-depth training in clinical and surgical specialties.

    • MD/MS courses: 3 years
    • PG Diploma courses: 2 years

Stipend for Postgraduate Students

Postgraduate students at MIMS are provided with a stipend to support their residency training. The stipend remains consistent across all specialties:

  • Stipend per year: ₹50,686

This stipend is given to the students during their clinical training years (1st, 2nd, and 3rd year) while working in various departments of the Maharajah’s General Hospital.

Eligibility Criteria

For MBBS Admission:

  • Age: Minimum age of 17 years by December 31 of the admission year.
  • Academic Qualifications:
    • Must have passed the 12th standard or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.
    • Minimum required marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology in the qualifying examination as per NEET guidelines.
  • NEET UG: Candidates must qualify the NEET UG exam with a rank that meets the eligibility criteria for seat allotment.

For Postgraduate Admission (MD/MS):

  • MBBS Degree: Candidates must have completed an MBBS degree from a recognized medical college.
  • Internship: The candidate must have completed the compulsory internship before the date of admission.
  • NEET PG: Candidates must have qualified the NEET PG exam and meet the eligibility criteria set by NTRUHS.

Andhra Pradesh NEET PG Counselling

Maharajah Institute of Medical Sciences participates in the Andhra Pradesh NEET PG Counselling organized by Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences (NTRUHS). The process for postgraduate admissions is as follows:

  1. Online Registration: Candidates must register online on the official NTRUHS counselling portal.
  2. Document Verification: Candidates must submit their original documents for verification at the designated counsellingcenters.
  3. Choice Filling: Candidates fill in their choices of courses and colleges based on availability.
  4. Seat Allotment: Seats are allotted based on NEET PG ranks and preferences. Seat allotment results are published after each counselling round.
  5. Reporting to the Allotted College: After seat allotment, candidates must report to MIMS for final admission, document submission, and fee payment.

Counselling Rounds:

  • First Round: Initial round of seat allotment based on the merit list.
  • Second Round: If seats remain vacant, a second round of counselling is conducted.
  • Mop-Up Round: For remaining vacant seats, a mop-up round may be conducted for eligible candidates.
