The institute originally affiliated to the University of Pune, is now under Maharashtra University of Health Sciences Nashik, and is recognized by Medical Council of India now by the NMC.
The field of medicine is one where science and social commitments walk hand in hand. In order to fulfill the dream of creating such committed doctors, MAEER’S MIT Pune, established, Maharashtra Institute of Medical Education and Research (MIMER) Medical College in the year 1995 at Talegaon Dabhade, near Pune, India.
Dr. B. S. alias Bhausaheb Sardesai established Talegaon General Hospital in 1925Â with the vision to provide excellent health care at an affordable cost. It was his dream to start a medical college at Talegaon . He along with his team collaborated with MAEER , M.I.T. Pune to establish the medical college. The hospital is renamed after him as Dr. Bhausaheb Sardesai Talegaon Rural Hospital in order to cherish his memories. The hospital is located in the same campus of the college.
It is worth mentioning that the Hospital is visited from time to time by renowned personalities from all walks of life.
The Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi has blessed this hospital in 1945.
