The Centre’s Medical Counselling Committee has officially announced the NEET-PG 2023 Registration for Medical and Dental Admissions will begin on July 27. This comes nearly four months after the NEET-PG results were announced. The registration and admissions procedure will be done online and is scheduled to be finished by October 10.
No Set Dates for State Counselling
While the national-level registration procedure is due to begin, the state selection committee, which is part of the Directorate of Medical Education in Chennai, has yet to determine dates for state-level counselling. On July 17, the deadline for submitting completed applications for postgraduate studies passed. The committee is presently reviewing applications and will publish the counselling dates once the rank list is available.
Problems that Students Face
The secretary of the selection committee, Dr. R Muthuselvan, noted that the timeline for state counselling is dependent on the formal information received from the central committee. The delay in publicising the dates has caused alarm among prospective students who are anxiously awaiting the start of the counselling process. Despite being prepared to begin the counselling process, the state selection committee must wait for official communication from the central committee.
Tentative Schedule in Some States
In contrast to Chennai, several states, such as Gujarat, have already announced a preliminary admissions calendar. This early publication of timetables assists students in planning their academic endeavours and decreases ambiguity. Gujarat’s proactive approach is admirable, and it might serve as a model for other governments looking to streamline the counselling process.
NEET-PG 2023 Exam Results and Internship Concerns
The NEET-PG 2023 results were announced on March 14, 2023, fewer than ten days after the test was administered on March 5, 2023. However, numerous candidates encountered challenges in finishing their internships owing to pandemic-related delays. To address this worry, students advised the Centre to extend the deadline for internship completion to June 30, 2023, in order to assure NEET-PG 2023 eligibility.
Difficulties in Getting to Exam Centres
The struggle of Chennai students was especially notable, as many had to travel for more than 24 hours to attend some examination centres. The lack of examination centres and poor seating arrangements made the journey difficult for these pupils. Such challenges highlight the need of the government providing enough facilities and accessible test centres for applicants around the country.
The commencement of NEET-PG 2023 registration for medical and dental admissions is an important milestone in determining the future of ambitious medical professionals. While the national procedure is ready to begin, the dates for state-level counselling have yet to be revealed. To promote a smooth and efficient admission process, increased communication and cooperation between federal and state agencies are required.
