NKP Salve Institute of Medical Sciences & Research Centre and Lata  Mangeshkar Hospital, Nagpur was established in 1990, at Sitabuldi with a commitment to health for all. The Institute was initially set up in Sitabuldi and was then shifted to Digdoh Hills, Hingna Road. Recognized by the NMC (National Medical Commission), it has an intake of 200 UG seats. It was earlier affiliated to Nagpur University but is now affiliated to Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nashik. Having started with under graduate courses it has in due time attained recognition for PG courses in all subjects and also MCh, PhD, Fellowships in certain subjects. Additional courses are in the offering to generate qualified manpower in requisite specialties and other paramedical subjects that are needed.

The Pre and Para clinical departments are located in the spacious double storied building complex. The clinical departments are housed in the spacious well equipped hospital adjoining the college. The hospital is 1040 bedded and is attached to the college. All the departments, including preclinical and clinical, are fully equipped as per the norms laid down by NMC.
