Uttar Pradesh adds 1300 new MBBS seats and 13 medical colleges ahead of NEET 2023, admissions open for 2023-24 session

Aspiring MBBS students preparing for NEET 2023 can rejoice as the Medical Education Department of Uttar Pradesh has announced an increase of 1,300 MBBS seats in state government medical colleges. Furthermore, the department has also declared the commencement of 13 new medical colleges in the state for the 2023–24 session.

 

The Medical Education Department has proclaimed that the government’s decision to increase MBBS seats in the state will bring a significant transformation to the medical education sector in Uttar Pradesh. Moreover, the department has also confirmed the commencement of the 13 new medical colleges in the 2023–24 session.

 

In a tweet, the Medical Education Department announced a significant development in the medical education sector in Uttar Pradesh. The state has increased its 1,300 MBBS seats in medical colleges, and 13 new medical colleges will commence in the 2023–24 session. This move is expected to revolutionize the medical sector in the state and provide aspiring medical students with new opportunities to pursue their education and careers.

 

Following the increase of 1,300 MBBS seats in Uttar Pradesh, the total number of seats has risen from 3,828 to 5,128. The state has also appointed principals for the 13 new colleges, which will improve education and health services in the region. With the addition of these colleges, the number of medical colleges in the state has risen from 35 to 48.

As per the existing rule, admission to MBBS courses in state-run medical colleges is allocated through the state quota (85% of seats) and NEET UG counselling (15% of seats).

It’s worth noting that there are approximately 100,388 MBBS seats available across the country, and more than half of them are offered by government medical colleges.
