Procedure for Admission Following NEET Results

Counselling for admission to medical, dental, and Ayush institutes based on rank would begin after the NEET outcome. Admission to a variety of medical programs, including MBBS, BDA, BAMS, and BHMS, in medical, dental, and AYUSH institutes across the nation is done through NEET.

Record Amount of NEET UG 2023 Applications Received

For NEET UG 2023, a record 20.87 lakh applications—about 12 lakh of which were submitted by women—have been received. 2.57 lakh more applications than the previous year. The number of female candidates is higher this year than the number of male candidates. In contrast to the 9.02 lakh male applicants who have registered this year, 11.8 lakh female candidates have.

Factors influencing the increase in applications

Experts claim that the centralized admissions process for admittance to medical courses is to blame for the rise in applications. Earlier, only MBBS seats were available for admission. Following this, seats for dental programs were added, and then seats for AYUSH’s graduation programs in Ayurveda, Unani, Homoeopathy, and Veterinary Medicine. There are now a large number of paramedical courses as well as nursing courses.
