CUET-UG 2023 Manipur and Jammu and Kashmir have deferred

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has altered the dates for the common undergraduate entrance test CUET-UG 2023 in the states of Manipur and Jammu & Kashmir. Due to the current peace and order situation in Manipur, the exam has been postponed until May 29; in Jammu and Kashmir, it will begin on May 26. The exam will be given across the remainder of the nation from May 21 to June 2, 2023, with additional dates on June 5 and June 6. June 7 and 8 have been designated as buffer days. The NTA has also stated that it intends to investigate the possibility of opening a temporary centre in Srinagar. Candidates who are scheduled to sit the exam on May 21, 22, 23, and 24, 2023, already have access to their admit cards.

Manipur’s CUET-UG 2023: Start Date Moved to May 29;

Potential Centre Change Schedule Adjustment Due to Law and Order Situation

The continuing law and order situation in Manipur has forced the start date of the CUET-UG 2023 to be moved to May 29. Because of this, the NTA has given students the option to switch their designated exam location. If candidates wish to amend their centre selection after receiving their admit card for the May 21–24, 2023, or the City Intimation Slip for the CUET (UG)–2023 scheduled between May 25–28, 2023, they should contact the NTA at 011-40759000/011-69227700 or by email at [email protected].

Ease regarding Centre Change

At first, 3,697 applicants were selected to show up at Manipur-based testing facilities for the CUET (UG) – 2023 exam. The NTA contacted each of these applicants to learn about their preferred test city in order to meet their needs and guarantee their convenience. Alternative centres in places like Delhi and Guwahati have been assigned to people who weren’t in Manipur or who wanted to sit the exam in another state or city.

Jammu & Kashmir CUET-UG 2023 is scheduled to begin on May 26.

The CUET-UG 2023 in Jammu and Kashmir will start on May 26. However, the NTA has decided to cancel the first round of tests, which were originally planned to take place from May 21 to May 25. This choice was taken to look into the prospect of setting up additional exam centres in the area. In order to minimize any difficulty, it is important to make sure that students who have been assigned centres outside of the Union Territory (UT) can be transferred to nearby centres. Notably, there has been a noteworthy increase from the previous year in the number of distinct candidates registered for the exam from the UT of Jammu and Kashmir.

Establishment of Centres for Jharkhand Candidates in the Neighbouring State

A total of 178,630 different applicants from Jharkhand have registered for the CUET-UG 2023 exam. The National Testing Agency (NTA) had to assign examination centres in a neighbouring state for some of the students due to the huge surge in applicants. The NTA has given these pupils city information slips well in advance in order to facilitate easy travel arrangements, giving them plenty of time to make the necessary preparations.

A total of 52 testing sites have been designated in the adjacent state for the CUET-UG exam, which is slated to take place from May 21 to May 24, 2023, to accommodate Jharkhand applicants. The selection of these locations seeks to retain the credibility and impartiality of the testing procedure while offering candidates a convenient testing environment.
