NEET PG Counselling 2023: MCC’s Role and Procedure

Candidates for medical school who have achieved NEET-PG eligibility and seek to enrol in PG programmes in Delhi may now submit an application for NEET-PG counselling. The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare of the Government of India established the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) to oversee the NEET-PG counselling procedure for seat allocation. We will give you all the necessary information regarding MCC’s function and the NEET-PG counselling procedure for PG courses in Delhi in this article.

MCC’s Counselling Work

In Delhi, MCC is the major organisation that oversees NEET-PG counselling for the following types of PG seats:

  • 50% of all seats in India Quota: All government medical schools, colleges, and universities in India, with the exception of those in Jammu and Kashmir, have seats available.
  • Deemed/Central Universities: 100% of seats These seats are available at universities that were founded by a federal law or that the University Grants Commission (UGC) Act of 1956 proclaimed to be universities.
  • 100% of open DNB seats are in India: The National Board of Examinations (NBE) grants the postgraduate diploma known as Diplomate of National Board (DNB) in a number of medical professions.

 

For Central Universities, MCC of DGHS will conduct four rounds of NEET-PG counselling: Round 1, Round 2, Mop-Up Round, and Stray Vacancy Round. All applicants who qualify for All India Quota seats based on their performance in the NEET PG exam administered by NBE will be eligible for Central University’s 50% AIQ seats.

Process of NEET-PG Counselling for Central Universities

Choosing a Choice and Registering of  NEET-PG Counselling 

Candidates should register on the MCC website and enter their personal and academic information if they want to take part in  NEET-PG counselling for Central Universities. Additionally, they must provide their photo ID, NEET PG scores, and any other pertinent documents. Following registration, candidates can access their accounts, log in, and select the colleges and courses that suit their tastes.

Selection and Acceptance of Seats of  NEET-PG Counselling 

Taking into account the candidates’ NEET PG rankings, selections made, and available seats, MCC will announce the results of the seat allocation. Candidates can obtain their allotment letter and view the results on the MCC website. They must show up at the assigned institute by the deadline with all necessary paperwork and the admissions fee.

Reporting and Admission  of  NEET-PG Counselling 

Candidates who receive seats should show up at the specified institute for admission and document verification. They should bring both the original and photocopies of all of their official documents, including their photo ID, NEET PG scorecard, allotment letter, mark sheets, certificates, and other pertinent paperwork. In accordance with the requirements of the institute, they must also pay the tuition and other fees.

NEET PG 2023 Counselling in Delhi: Everything You Need to Know

On March 5, 2023, the National Eligibility and Entrance Test for Postgraduate Studies (NEET PG) was held. For the academic year 2023–2024, the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) will soon start the counselling procedure for seat allocation to various MD/MS and PG Diploma Courses. We will cover all the pertinent details about the NEET PG 2023 counselling process in this article.

Schedule for NEET PG 2023 counselling

The Medical Counselling Committee’s official website (https://mcc.nic.in) will post the NEET PG 2023 counselling schedule. Only those applicants who passed the National Board of Examinations’ (NBE) NEET PG 2023 exam will be qualified to participate in the counselling procedure.

Process of Registration NEET PG 2023 counselling

Candidates must register on the Medical Counselling Committee website (www.mcc.nic.in) in order to take part in the NEET PG 2023 counselling procedure. Any attempt to register elsewhere will be refused; the registration process can only be done online.

Guidance Process

Online registration, payment of fees, preference selection, seat allocation results, and reporting make up the counselling process. The selection of seats will depend on a number of variables, including the NEET PG 2023 results, the candidates’ selections, the availability of seats, and reservation requirements. Counselling is conducted in four rounds: round 1, round 2, mop-up, and stray vacancy round. Only in the event that seats are still available after the first three rounds is the stray vacancy round held.

The NEET PG 2023 counselling process will include

  • Post MBBS DNB Courses
  • Direct 6 years DrNB Courses
  • Post MBBS NBEMS Diploma Courses

 In addition to AIQ 50% quota seats for all States/Union territories, State quota seats for all States/Union territories, and All Private Medical Colleges, Institutions & Universities/Deemed Universities.

 

The Medical Counselling Committee website is where qualified applicants should register themselves in order to participate in the NEET PG 2023 counselling procedure. Online registration, payment of fees, preference selection, seat allocation results, and reporting are all part of the counselling process. Registrations for Counselling Process NEET PG 2023

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) will soon commence the counselling process for NEET PG 2023 in Delhi. Interested candidates must register online via the MCC website www.mcc.nic.in. Any registration submitted through a different mode will not be accepted. The counselling process comprises various stages such as online registration, fee payment, choice filling, seat allotment, and reporting of allotted seats.

 

MCC conducts counseling for the following –

  1. 50% seats of All India Quota 
  2. 100% seats of Deemed/Central Universities 
  3. 100% all India open DNB seats 

 

The NEET-PG serves as the sole entrance examination for admission to various MD/MS and PG Diploma Courses, as per Section 61(2) of the National Medical Commission Act, 2019, and 10(D) of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956. The counselling process for the 2023-24 academic year will encompass AIQ 50% quota seats for all States/Union territories, State quota seats for all States/Union territories, as well as private medical colleges, institutions & universities/deemed universities, Armed Forces Medical Services, and Post MBBS DNB Courses, Direct 6 years DNB Courses, and Post MBBS NBEMS Diploma Courses.

 

All India Quota Counselling 

The AIQ counselling typically comprises four rounds, namely Round 1, Round 2, AIQ Mop-up Rounds, and AIQ Stray Vacancy Round. Those candidates who have cleared the NEET PG examination conducted by the National Board of Examination (NBE) and secured a rank in the All India Quota will be eligible to participate in the counselling process.

 

Counselling for Deemed University – 

The counselling process usually consists of four rounds: Round 1 and Round 2 with AIQ, Mop-Up Round, and Stray Vacancy Round. MCC conducts three of the four rounds online, namely Round 1, Round 2, and Mop-Up Round. The Stray Vacancy Round is conducted by the respective Deemed Universities. For the Stray Vacancy round, a list of students in order of merit, ten times the number of vacant seats, is sent to the Deemed Universities.

 

Counselling for Armed Forces Medical Services – 

To participate in AFMS counselling, candidates must register on the MCC website (www.mcc.nic.in) and select AFMS seats. The MCC’s role is limited to the registration of interested candidates, as the list of registered candidates is forwarded to AFMS Authorities for counselling in accordance with their rules and regulations.

 

Counselling for Central University/Institute – 

The MCC usually conducts four rounds of counselling, namely Round 1, Round 2, Mop-Up Round, and Stray Vacancy Round. Candidates who have qualified for All India Quota seats based on their rank in the NEET PG examination conducted by NBE are eligible to participate in the counselling process for the 50% AIQ seats of Central University.

 

Delhi University Seats – 

50% of seats in the All India Quota are contributed by Delhi University. As for the remaining 50% of seats, candidates who have completed their MBBS from DU are eligible for a 50% Internal Quota at Delhi University.

 

Aligarh Muslim University Seats – 

Half of the seats in the All India Quota are contributed by AMU. The other half of the seats are reserved for candidates who have completed their MBBS from AMU, which are known as internal seats, and amount to 50% of the total seats available in AMU.

 

Banaras Hindu University Seats- 

Half of the seats in the All India Quota are provided by BHU. The other 50% of seats are reserved for candidates who have completed their MBBS/BDS from BHU, and who are eligible for 50% of internal seats in BHU.

 

Counselling for Diplomate of National Board (DNB) – 

The Medical Counseling Committee (MCC) is responsible for conducting counselling for DNB courses, which includes domicile-free and All India-in-character seats. However, MCC does not conduct counselling for In-service seats of DNB. The counselling process for DNB courses usually consists of four rounds, namely Round 1, Round 2 in AIQ, MopUp Round, and Stray Vacancy Round, all conducted by MCC. Candidates who have qualified for NEET PG conducted by NBE are eligible to participate in the counseling process.

 

Seat Allocation for NEET PG 2023 – 

The allotment of seats for NEET PG 2023 will depend on several factors, including NEET PG rank, selected colleges and courses, available seats, reservation policies, and other considerations. Once these factors are taken into account, the MCC website will announce the provisional results of Round 1 after the seat allotment process.

NEET PG scorecard for 2023 released

The scorecard for NEET PG 2023 has been released by the National Board of Examinations (NBE) on their official website, nbe.edu.in. Those who have cleared the exam can download their scorecard from the link that will be provided. The NEET PG exam was conducted on March 5 and the results were announced on March 14. A link to download the results is available below.

 

Candidates who have qualified for NEET PG 2023, as indicated in the result PDF, will be able to download their scorecards. The scorecards will contain important details such as the candidate’s name, parents’ names, roll number, date of birth, category, scores out of 800, total number of correct and incorrect responses, and NEET PG rank. It is mandatory for candidates to download their NEET PG 2023 scorecards, as they will be required during the counselling process.

 

Follow the steps below to download the scorecard

  1. Visit the official website of the National Board of Examinations (NBE) at nbe.edu.in
  2. Click on the “NEET-PG” tab on the homepage
  3. Select the “NEET PG candidate login” option
  4. Enter your login credentials such as your roll number and password
  5. The NEET PG score card 2023 will appear on the screen
  6. Download and take a printout of the scorecard for future reference.

Counselling session

NEET PG Exam 2023 was held for admission to MD/MS/DNB/Diploma courses in the academic session 2023-24. Following the result declaration, the Medical Council Committee (MCC) is expected to commence the counselling process for admission. The merit list for All India 50% quota seats will be announced separately. The states/UT will produce the final merit list/category-wise merit list for state quota seats based on their eligibility criteria, guidelines/regulations, and reservation policy.

NEET-PG 2023 Results Declared: Check Your Scores and Rank on NBEMS Websites Now!

The NEET-PG 2023 exam took place on March 5th, 2023 and was held for admission to MD/MS/DNB/Diploma courses for the 2023-24 academic session.

 

The cut-off scores for different categories for admission to MD/MS/DNB/Diploma courses have been determined based on the minimum eligibility criteria stated in the NEET-PG 2023 Information Bulletin.

NEET-PG 2023: No Technically Incorrect or Ambiguous Questions Found, Confirms NBEMS

After the NEET-PG 2023 exam, subject matter experts from the relevant specialties reviewed every question to ensure its technical accuracy and the correctness of the answer keys. According to their assessment, there were no questions found to be technically incorrect or unclear. This review was conducted by the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences in New Delhi.

 

Separate Merit Position for All India 50% Quota Seats, States to Generate Merit List for State Quota Seats

The merit position for all India’s 50% quota seats will be announced separately, while the States/UT will generate the final merit list/category-wise merit list for state quota seats based on their qualifying/eligibility criteria, applicable guidelines/regulations, and reservation policy.

 

Candidates who are found to have used any unfair means during the NEET-PG 2023 exam will face penalties as determined by the NBEMS. If any such candidates are declared qualified, their results and candidature will be cancelled or deemed to be cancelled. The NBEMS will take appropriate action against these candidates.

The eligibility of a candidate’s candidature for NEET-PG 2023 is provisional and depends on meeting the criteria outlined in the NEET-PG 2023 Information Bulletin, as well as verification of their Face ID/Biometric where required.

 

Starting from March 25th, 2023, candidates who took the NEET-PG 2023 exam can download their individual scorecards from the website https://nbe.edu.in/.

The Supreme Court has dismissed all petitions seeking NEET PG 2023 postponement, and the exam will take place as scheduled on March 05, 2023. The aspirants have been pushing for an exam date extension to reduce the gap of around five months between the date of the exam and the date of MBBS internship completion.

 

 Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya had also clarified in the Parliament that NEET PG 2023 examination would be conducted on the scheduled date. The National Medical Commission (NMC) released its speaking order on Friday, 24th February, and disposed of the representations. The Supreme Court bench sought responses from the National Board of Examinations (NBE) during the hearing of petitions, and the bench deferred the matter. The last year’s internship extension was brief, and the bench noted that today, the aspirants have been asking for a more extended postponement. 

 

As ASG, Aishwarya Bhati asked the bench to refer to the dates furnished before the court. “The date was announced six months ago. Everyone who applied in the first window is 2 lakh 3 thousand,” she said.

 

Furthermore, the Medical Council of India has announced the commencement of counseling for medical aspirants post-exam, scheduled to begin from July 15, 2023. All students who are completing their internship on August 11, 2023, are eligible to avail of the counseling services.
