This announcement comes after much anticipation, following earlier reports from Medical Dialogues, which had first highlighted the communication sent by the NMC to Deans and Principals of medical colleges across the country. The notice was also shared with Registrars of various Health/Medical institutes, providing clarity on the critical dates for the upcoming postgraduate medical entrance examination.

The Secretary’s statement referenced a communication from the Post Graduate Medical Education Board (PGMEB), which had deliberated on the matter in conjunction with the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS).
