NEET 2023 Counselling: Process and Importance
There are a total of 654 medical schools, 323 dental schools, 914 AYUSH schools, and 47 BVSc & AH schools in India that accept NEET 2023 scores. There are a total of 15 AIIMS campuses that also accept this exam score for admission, along with two JIPMER campuses. This year, admission to the BSc (Hons) Nursing programme will also happen through NEET, however the seat matrix has not yet been made public. According to the most recent statistics, there are 487 BSc nurses, 27, 948 BDS, 52,728 AYUSH, 99,763 MBBS, and 603 BVSc.
Process of NEET 2023 Counselling
While the State Authorities would handle NEET 2023 counselling for the 85% State Quota seats, the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) will handle it for the 15% All India Quota (AIQ) seats in 2023. Candidates must register online before moving further with the seat selection process, which is fully online. A step-by-step explanation of the NEET counselling procedure is provided below:
- Online enrollment
To register for NEET 2023 UG counselling, candidates must go to the official website of MCC or the relevant State Authorities. To register, they must supply their NEET 2023 roll number, name, birthdate, email address, and other information.
- Filling in of Options
Candidates must enter into their accounts after registering in order to fill out their preferences for courses and colleges. Up until they lock them, they can change or remove their selections.
- Limiting Your Options
Candidates must lock their selections by submitting them online after they have filled them out. Once choices are locked, candidates are unable to change or remove them.
- Seat Allocation ResultsÂ
The candidate’s preferences and NEET 2023 UGranking will be taken into account when announcing the seat allocation results. Candidates can verify their results by logging into their accounts on the official websites of the MCC or the State Authorities, where the results will be posted.
- Reporting to the designated institute
Candidates who accept the offered seat must report to the appropriate college within the allowed time frame and finish the admissions procedures. Candidates who don’t want the seat they were given might choose a seat upgrade and take part in the subsequent round of counselling.
Courses After NEET 2023 UG

- Homoeopathy Medicine
The holistic care of patients is the main goal of the alternative medical system known as homoeopathy. The undergraduate programme lasts four and a half years, divided into three and a half years of classroom instruction and one year of clinical training.
- Unani medicine.
The four humours are the foundation of the ancient Greek medical philosophy known as unani medicine. The undergraduate programme lasts four and a half years, divided into three and a half years of classroom instruction and one year of clinical training.
- Siddha MedicineÂ
The traditional medical practise known as Siddha Medicine has its roots in Tamil Nadu, India. The undergraduate programme lasts four and a half years, divided into three and a half years of classroom instruction and one year of clinical training
- Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandry
Animal health, diseases, and care are all topics covered in this course, along with principles of animal husbandry.
- BSc (Hons) Nursing
The BSc (Hons) Nursing programme prepares students to work as professional nurses who support and care for patients while working under the supervision of physicians and other healthcare providers.
- Bachelor of Physiotherapy
The study of physical therapy methods to aid patients in recovering from illnesses, physical problems, or injuries is covered in the bachelor of physiotherapy programme.
- Bachelor of Occupational Therapy
To become occupational therapists, who assist patients with physical, mental, or developmental disorders in developing or regaining daily living and employment abilities, students must complete a bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy.
- Bachelor of Audiology, Speech and Language Pathology
Bachelor of Audiology, Speech and Language Pathology: This programme prepares students to serve as audiologists or speech therapists who help patients communicate more effectively by studying hearing, speech, and language impairments.
- Bachelor of Prosthetics and Orthotics
The Bachelor of Prosthetics and Orthotics programme prepares students to work as prosthetic and orthotic designers, fitters, and adjusters of braces, artificial limbs, and other aids for patients with physical impairments or amputations.
