One of the most esteemed engineering admission tests in India is the VIT Engineering admission Examination (VITEEE). The VITEEE is administered by VIT (Vellore Institute of Technology) and is taken by tens of thousands of students nationwide each year. The results of the VITEEE, which was administered from April 17 to April 23, 2023, have been released, and Kushagra Bashisth of Jharkhand earned the top spot. VITEEE overview
Every year, VIT administers the VITEEE, a computer-based test, to applicants seeking admission to its B Tech programmes. The exam is given in 121 Indian cities as well as four foreign countries, including Dubai and Kuwait. 125 multiple-choice questions from the subjects of physics, chemistry, mathematics/biology, and english make up the exam. There is only one mark allotted to each question, and incorrect answers do not receive a lower mark. The exam lasts for two and a half hours.
VITEEE Results 2023
On Wednesday, April 26, VIT released the VITEEE 2023 results.Â
The exam’s top scorer was Kushagra Bashisth of Jharkhand, and subsequently placed in second and third were Prakshal Shrinivas Choudhary and Mahin Pramod Dhoke, from Maharashtra.

Rank-Wise Counselling Schedule
Based on the candidates’ rankings, the counselling will be conducted in four rounds between April 26 and June 14.
- Phase 1 for ranks 1-20,000 is from April 26 to 30.
- Phase 2 for ranks 20,001-45,000 is from May 9 to 11.
- Phase 3 for ranks 45,001-70,000 is from May 20 to 22.
- Phase 4 for rank 70,001-1,00,000 is from May 31 to June 2.
Only candidates with rankings over a lakh are eligible for counselling for the B Tech programmes offered by VIT-AP and VIT-Bhopal, and phase 5 counselling for those with these ranks is planned to take place from June 12 to June 14. To secure allocation, candidates are asked to provide the most options possible during the online counselling.
Waivers of Tuition for Top Rank Holders
Candidates whose VITEEE scores fall between 1 and 10 will receive a full tuition waiver for all four years, while those whose scores fall between 11 and 50 will receive a 75% tuition fee relief. Candidates in ranks 51 through 100 will receive a 50% tuition fee waiver, while those in ranks 101 through 500 will receive a 25% tuition fee waiver.
STARSÂ Programme for Rural Students
Under the STARS (Support The Advancement of Rural Students) programme, the district toppers (one boy and one girl) who attended government schools in rural areas in Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, and Madhya Pradesh will receive a 100% fee waiver as well as exemption from hostel and mess fees.
Admission to Other Undergraduate Programmes

Candidates within the top 50,000 rankings in the VIT Engineering Entrance Examination (VITEEE) are eligible to participate in the counselling process for admission to VIT’s B Tech programmes. From April 26 through June 14, there will be four periods of counselling, and lessons are expected to start the second week of August 2023. Candidates with VITEEE scores of 1 through 10 will receive a full four-year tuition free; candidates with lower scores will receive a prorated tuition fee waiver.Additionally, under the STARS programme, district top students who attended public schools in rural areas would receive a 100% fee waiver as well as a waiver of the mess and dormitory expenses.
