The National Assessment and Accreditation Council has certified Chaudhary Charan Singh University in Meerut with a 3.66 CGPA out of 4 and an A++ rating (NAAC). The NAAC’s peer team visited the campus for three days, evaluated it, and then turned in a report on their observations.
MEERUT: On Friday, the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) granted Chaudhary Charan Singh University in Meerut accreditation with a 3.66 CGPA out of 4 and an A++ grade. According to a CCSU representative, the NAAC peer team visited the campus on March 1 for a three-day inspection and then submitted their observation report to the NAAC.
“It’s a happy occasion for us as well as a duty,” Prof. Sangeeta Shukla said during a news conference led by the vice-chancellor. “Considering that we have been intending to work for more research and innovation in many sectors that would help the students.”
Meanwhile, Pro Vice-Chancellor Prof. YC Vimla told TOI, “Anandiben Patel, the governor of Uttar Pradesh, decided on this grade after holding multiple review meetings in 2021.” Now, our university may be found on the list of the best universities in the nation. It’s interesting because, without this accreditation, we would not be able to launch any defence courses in cooperation with the defence authorities. Following the outcome, the institution’s resources will grow, which will be advantageous to all of the colleges and the university’s linked students.
Prof. Prashant Kumar, CCSU’s spokesperson, mentioned the upcoming changes and stated, “As we have received the grades, the university is now planning to launch distance education, preparing to collaborate with foreign universities, and grants from the central and state governments, along with the research fellowship, will be provided by the university to the research scholars.” Added he, The university applied for the NAAC grade in 2016 and received a B+, and now we have applied in 2022 and received an A++. CCS did so in 2001 and received a B++.
“Only three of the 35 state colleges fall into the A++ category.” Gorakhpur University received the highest NAAC ranking, with a 3.78 CGPA, followed by CCSU with a 3.66 CGPA, and Lucknow University with a 3.55 CGPA.
