MIMS Teaching Hospital

Eligibility Criteria

For MBBS:

  • Nationality: Must be an Indian citizen.
  • Age: Minimum age of 17 years by December 31 of the admission year.
  • Educational Qualifications: 12th-grade completion with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English as required subjects, with a minimum of 50% marks (40% for SC/ST/OBC).
  • Entrance Exam: NEET UG qualification is mandatory.

For MD/MS:

  • Degree Requirement: Must hold an MBBS degree from a recognized institution.
  • Entrance Exam: NEET PG qualification is required.
  • Internship: Completion of a one-year rotating internship by the time of admission.

Counseling Process

Admission to both UG and PG programs at MIMS is based on merit, determined by NEET UG for MBBS and NEET PG for MD/MS courses. The counseling process is conducted by the Telangana State Medical Counseling Authority (TSMCA). Candidates must register, undergo document verification, and select their preferred course and college during the counseling rounds.

Stipend and Bond Policy

During this period, MIMS provides a monthly stipend, generally ranging from ₹15,000 to ₹25,000, depending on the department and the role. Interns gain hands-on experience in patient care, emergency procedures, and hospital administration.

PG Residency Stipend: For students enrolled in MD/MS programs, the monthly stipend is considerably higher, reflecting the increased responsibilities and workload associated with postgraduate training. PG students receive a monthly stipend between ₹40,000 and ₹60,000, varying by specialty and year of study. In many departments, the stipend may increase each year, rewarding residents as they gain experience and assume more advanced duties.

Bond: Students may need to sign a bond committing to a service period post-graduation, especially for state quota admissions.
