Pondicherry Institute of Medical Sciences is a tertiary care hospital and teaching institute at Kalapet in the Union Territory of Puducherry, India. The college has been approved for full recognition by MCI for 150 seats for MBBS degree granted by the Pondicherry University. The PIMS is a unit of The Madras Medical Mission, a charitable society and hospital in Chennai promoted by the members of the Malankara Orthodox Christian community.

PIMS has a Medical College, Multi-Specialty Hospital and a Nursing College.

PIMS Pondicherry offers more than 20 courses in medical stream including MBBS, MD, MS and M Ch in plastic surgery. All these courses include undergraduate, post graduate and doctoral courses. It also has post graduate diplomas in many fields.

About Hospital

PIMS College of Health Sciences is located 12 Km from Pondicherry on the East Coast Road. The campus houses a 740 bed teaching hospital (PIMS) on 32.89 acres of landscaped campus in Kalapet Village in Pondicherry.
The college has an intake of 80 undergraduates each year (BSc-MLT, BSc-MRIT & BPT). This creates an informal, close-knit, amicable and supportive environment that encourages hard work and academic achievement. The Health Science College and PIMS have lecture halls with a seating capacity of 500 with sophisticated sound system, library, NABL accredited Labs with distinct collection of medical, bio medical, technical, behavioral science, management and computer science books including journals of national and international repute and computer lab with internet access for the students
