BITS Pilani – Engineering Programs (UG & PG)

BITS Pilani offers a variety of undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) engineering programs at its campuses in Pilani, Goa, Hyderabad, and Dubai. These programs are designed to provide world-class education in various branches of engineering, technology, and science.

BITSAT Eligibility Criteria

1. Educational Qualifications:

•    Qualifying Examination: Candidates must have passed the 12th examination or an equivalent exam from a recognized board with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) as main subjects.

•    Minimum Marks: Candidates must have secured at least 75% marks in aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) in the 12th exam.

Additionally, candidates must have obtained at least 60% marks in each of the Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics subjects individually.

2. Age Limit:

•    There is no upper age limit for BITSAT, but candidates should have been born on or after October 1, 2000.

•    Students who have appeared for the 12th examination in the previous year or are about to appear for it in the current year are eligible to apply.

3. Subject Requirements:

•    Candidates must have studied Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (along with English) as core subjects in their 12th class.

•    Candidates from the Science stream are eligible to apply if they meet the academic criteria.

4. Attempts:

•    Candidates can attempt BITSAT only twice in their lifetime (one attempt per year).

•    This means that a candidate can appear for BITSAT in two different years but cannot attempt it more than that.

BITSAT-2024 Test Format 

Extra Questions (if time permits):

•    12 additional questions from Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology, and Logical Reasoning.

•    Each extra question is worth 3 marks, and negative marking applies (-1 mark for incorrect answers).

•    No revisiting previous answers once extra questions are attempted.

Negative Marking:

•    Correct Answer: +3 marks

•    Incorrect Answer: -1 mark

•    Unanswered Question: 0 marks

BITSAT-2025 Application Procedure

The BITSAT-2025 application process is conducted entirely online through the official BITS Pilani admission website (www.bitsadmission.com). Below is a comprehensive guide to the BITSAT-2025 application procedure, which includes registration, application submission, fee payment, and important key dates for the exam.

Exam Sessions for BITSAT-2025:

BITSAT-2025 will be conducted in two sessions:

•    Session-1: 26th May 2025 to 30th May 2025

•    Session-2: 22nd June 2025 to 26th June 2025

Application Deadline:

The last date to apply for Session-1 or both sessions is 18th April 2025. Be sure to submit your application before the deadline to avoid missing out on registration.

Steps to Submit the BITSAT-2025 Application:

Step 1: Registration

•    Visit the official BITS Pilani Admission Website (www.bitsadmission.com).

•    Register for the exam to obtain a unique 8-digit Application Number (User ID) and Password.

•    Use a valid email ID and mobile number that will remain active throughout the admission process. You will receive One-Time Passwords (OTPs) for email and mobile number validation.

•    Important: Ensure that the Name, Date of Birth, Gender, Mobile Number, and Email Address are entered accurately during registration, as these details cannot be changed later.

Step 2: Fill in the Application Form

•    Complete the application form with the required details such as personal information, academic background, and preferred test session (Session-1 or both sessions).

•    Note: You can initially register for Session-1 and later opt for Session-2 (the application window for Session-2 is from 26th May 2025 to 10th June 2025).

Step 4: Payment of Application Fee

The application fee for BITSAT-2025 is non-refundable and non-transferable. The fee varies based on the candidate's gender and the number of sessions chosen:

Important Application Guidelines:

•    One Application per Candidate: Submit only one application. Duplicate applications will be rejected.

•    Edit Window: You can make corrections to your application during the edit window from 29th April to 1st May 2025. However, certain details like Name, Date of Birth, and Gender cannot be changed after registration.

•    Take a Printout: After submitting your application, ensure you take a printout of the completed form for future reference.

Session Selection and Score Consideration:

•    Attempts Allowed: Candidates can appear a maximum of two times for BITSAT-2025 (Session-1 and/or Session-2).

•    Score Consideration: If you appear in both sessions, the higher score of the two sessions will be considered for admission.

BITSAT 2025 counselling 

The BITSAT 2025 counselling details will soon be available online on the official BITS Pilani admissions website at bitsadmission.com. Candidates who qualify in BITSAT 2025 will be required to participate in the counselling process for admission into courses offered by the participating institutes.

BITSAT 2025 Counselling Process

During the counselling, candidates will need to pay the BITSAT 2025 counselling fee online via net banking, credit card, or debit card. Additionally, candidates will need to submit their 12th standard marks and select their preferred programs in order of priority. The seat allotment process will be carried out through multiple iterations, with the results being declared online for each round. The seat allotment will be based on factors such as the candidate’s BITSAT rank, preference choices, category, and seat availability. It is expected that there will be six rounds of seat allotment for BITSAT 2025.

Candidates who are State Board toppers will be eligible for direct admission into the institute.

BITSAT 2025 Counselling Fee

To participate in the counselling process, candidates must pay the BITSAT 2025 counselling fee of INR 1000.  The payment can be made online via net banking, credit card, or debit card. Alternatively, candidates can also make offline payments at ICICI bank branches using a pay-in-slip. If the counselling fee is not paid before the deadline, the candidate will not be eligible to participate in the counselling or admission process.
