IIT Delhi Admission Process for 2025 (Via JOSAA Counseling)
Admission to the B.Tech programs at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi is facilitated through the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) counseling, following the JEE Advanced examination.

Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for admission to IIT Delhi's B.Tech programs via JoSAA counseling, candidates must:
- Educational Qualification: Have passed Class 12 (or equivalent) with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects.
- Minimum Aggregate Score:
- General and OBC-NCL categories: Minimum 75% in Class 12th.
- SC, ST, and PwD categories: Minimum 65% in Class 12th.
- JEE Advanced Score: Must have a valid score in JEE Advanced.
- Age Limit: Maximum 25 years as on October 1st of the year of admission. Age relaxation is applicable for SC, ST, PwD, and OBC-NCL candidates as per government norms.
Steps to take Admission
- Candidates must first qualify JEE Mains and then JEE Advanced.
- After JEE Advanced results are declared, candidates must register on the JoSAA portal (josaa.nic.in) using their JEE credentials.
- Candidates should fill in their preferred choices of institutes and programs. A 10-day window is provided for this, including two mock seat allocations to help refine choices.
- After finalizing choices, candidates must lock them before the deadline.
- JoSAA conducts multiple rounds of seat allotment based on candidates' ranks and preferences.
- Candidates must accept the allotted seat and choose one of the following options:
- Freeze: Accept the current seat and do not participate in further rounds.
- Slide: Accept the current seat but consider higher-preference programs within the same institute in subsequent rounds.
- Float: Accept the current seat but consider higher-preference programs in any institute in subsequent rounds.
- Candidates must upload the required documents for verification.
- Pay Seat Acceptance Fee of:
- For General/OBC-NCL/GEN-EWS: ₹40,000
- For SC/ST/PwD: ₹20,000
- Documents are verified online. Candidates must ensure all uploaded documents are correct and legible.
- After successful document verification, candidates must report to IIT Delhi to complete the admission process, which includes payment of the remaining fees and submission of original documents.
