The Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) conducts counseling for undergraduate engineering and architecture programs in National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), Government Funded Technical Institutes (GFTIs), and other technical institutes. For the academic year 2026, CSAB will conduct counseling through three primary channels:
Allocates unfilled seats in the NIT+ system after the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) counseling. Candidates who have not been allotted a seat in JoSAA or have not participated in JoSAA are eligible to register for this round.
Specifically for candidates from North-Eastern states and Union Territories, aiming to allocate seats in degree-level technical courses approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and universities for these regions.
For candidates from Union Territories of Andaman & Nicobar, Lakshadweep, Daman & Diu, and Dadra & Nagar Haveli, allocating supernumerary seats in select NITs, including NIT Durgapur, NIT Calicut, and SVNIT Surat.

General Eligibility Criteria for CSAB 2026:
In addition to the round-specific eligibility criteria, all candidates must meet the following general conditions:
Candidates participating in CSAB 2026 counselling are required to pay different fees depending on the stage and type of counselling. Below is a detailed breakdown of the CSAB Special, NEUT, and Supernumerary Counselling Fees.
After registration, candidates must pay the Special Round Enrollment Fee (SREF) through Net Banking, Debit Card, Credit Card, or SBI e-challan. The SREF amount varies based on the candidate type and category:

Candidates participating in CSAB NEUT Counselling must pay a Seat Acceptance Fee (SAF) of ₹5,000 to confirm their allotted seats. This fee must be paid within the specified deadline after each seat allotment round.
Candidates allotted seats under CSAB Supernumerary Counselling must pay a Supernumerary Seat Acceptance Fee (SSAF), which includes a non-refundable processing charge of ₹5,000.
