SLAT UG 2026 is the official entrance examination conducted by Symbiosis International (Deemed University) for admission to five-year integrated undergraduate law programmes offered by its constituent Symbiosis Law Schools (SLS) across India. SLAT is a mandatory computer-based entrance test for candidates seeking admission to undergraduate law programmes for the Academic Year 2026–27.

About SLAT UG 2026

SLAT is designed to evaluate a candidate’s reasoning ability, analytical thinking, reading comprehension, legal aptitude, and general awareness. The test focuses on assessing skills required for success in legal education rather than rote memorization.
Candidates qualifying SLAT are shortlisted by individual Symbiosis Law Schools for further admission stages such as Personal Interaction (PI) and document verification.

  • Admit Card for SLAT Test 1: 11 December 2025
  • Admit Card for SLAT Test 2: 18 December 2025

SLAT UG 2026 Exam Mode and Format

  • SLAT 2026 is conducted in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode across multiple cities in India.
    Exam format:
    Duration: 60 minutes
  • Total questions: 60 multiple-choice questions
  • Maximum marks: 60
  • Negative marking: No negative marking
  • All sections are mandatory

Candidates can appear for both test dates, and the higher score is considered for final evaluation. There is no normalization between test slots.

SLAT UG 2026 Section Structure

The SLAT question paper consists of five sections:

  • Logical Reasoning
  • Legal Reasoning
  • Analytical Reasoning
  • Reading Comprehension
  • General Knowledge

Each section carries equal weightage and tests aptitude required for undergraduate legal studies.

SLAT UG 2026 Registration Process

Candidates must complete online registration through the official SLAT portal. Registration steps include:

  • Payment of programme registration fee for selected institutes

Registration must be completed before 30 November 2025. No changes are allowed after final submission.

SLAT UG 2026 Application Fee Structure

  • Candidates must make two types of payments:

    SLAT Test Fee:
    • ₹2250 per test attempt
    • Non-refundable and non-transferable
  • Programme Registration Fee:
    • ₹1000 per programme per institute
    • Non-refundable and non-transferable

Both payments are mandatory to participate in the admission process of selected Symbiosis Law Schools.

SLAT UG 2026 Test Cities

SLAT 2026 is conducted across 68 cities in India.
Candidates can choose three preferred test cities during registration. Allocation depends on availability and payment date priority. Once allotted, test city changes are not permitted. The final exam centre details are printed on the candidate’s admit card.

Admit Card Guidelines

  • Candidates must:
    Download admit card from slat-test.org
  • Print colour copy only
  • Paste recent passport-size photograph
  • Carry original photo ID proof to the test centre

Admit card authentication at the exam centre is mandatory for participation in further admission stages.

SLAT UG 2026 Result Declaration

SLAT 2026 results are declared on:
SLAT 2026 results are declared on 15 January 2026. Results remain available on the SLAT portal till 14 February 2026. Candidates must download and preserve their scorecards for further admission procedures.

SLAT UG 2026 Shortlisting and Personal Interaction

Shortlisting is based on the SLAT entrance test score. Shortlisted candidates must attend Personal Interaction (PI) conducted by individual law schools. Important PI rules:

  • Attendance in all PI components is mandatory
  • Absence in any stage leads to disqualification
  • Candidates must upload academic documents before PI

PI assesses personality, communication skills, motivation for law, and overall aptitude.

Merit List Preparation

Final merit list is prepared based on:

  • SLAT score scaled to 70 marks
  • Personal Interaction score of 30 marks

Total evaluation weightage is 100 marks. Separate merit lists are published by each Symbiosis Law School.

Eligibility Criteria for SLAT UG 2026

  • Candidates must satisfy:
    Passed Class 12 (10+2) from a recognized board
  • Minimum marks required:
    • General category: 45%
    • SC/ST category: 40%
  • Students awaiting Class 12 results are eligible provisionally
  • There is no upper age limit for SLAT UG 2026

Reservation Policy

  • As per SIU guidelines:
    Within sanctioned intake:
    Scheduled Caste: 15%
  • Scheduled Tribe: 7.5%
  • Differently Abled (PwD): 3%
  • Defence Wards (SLS Pune only): 5%
  • Additional reservations:
    • Kashmiri Migrants and Kashmiri Pandits: 2 seats per programme
    • International candidates: Up to 20% of intake
  • All reserved category candidates must upload valid supporting documents during registration

Final Admission Confirmation

  • Admission is provisional and becomes final only after:
    Payment of institute fees
  • Document verification
  • Fulfilment of eligibility criteria
  • Approval by the respective law school

Symbiosis International University reserves the right to cancel admission if discrepancies are found at any stage.
