The Common Law Admission Test Undergraduate (CLAT UG) 2026 is a national-level entrance examination conducted by the Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) for admission to five-year integrated law programmes such as BA LL.B., BBA LL.B., BCom LL.B., BSc LL.B., and similar courses offered by participating NLUs across India. Admission to NLUs is done exclusively through CLAT UG rank and centralized online counselling conducted by the Consortium.
About CLAT UG 2026
CLAT UG is designed to test a candidateβs reading comprehension, logical thinking, legal aptitude, numerical ability, and awareness of current affairs. The exam emphasizes analytical ability and understanding rather than rote memorization. For the Academic Year 2026β27, CLAT UG was conducted in offline mode at centers across multiple states and union territories in India.
CLAT UG 2027 Syllabus & Exam Pattern
The Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) has announced that the CLAT UG 2027 syllabus and exam pattern will remain unchanged. Students can continue preparing using the current syllabus and examination structure without any modifications.

CLAT 2027 Exam Date & Application Schedule
The Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) has officially announced the CLAT 2027 examination schedule. The examination will be conducted on 6 December 2026 (Sunday) from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. The online application process will commence on 3 August 2026 and will remain open until 31 October 2026. The remaining admission events, including admit card, answer key, result declaration, and counselling schedule, will be announced by the Consortium in due course.

CLAT UG 2026 Question Paper Pattern
CLAT UG consists of five sections with a comprehension-based format.
- Total questions originally: 120 MCQs
- One question was withdrawn during evaluation
- Final score calculation was done out of 119 marks
Marking scheme: +1 mark for each correct answer, β0.25 mark for each incorrect answer, no negative marking for unattempted questions.

- English Language: Reading comprehension, vocabulary usage, tone analysis, inference-based understanding.
- Current Affairs Including General Knowledge: National & international events, government policies, legal developments, economic affairs, sports, awards, science, environmental issues.
- Legal Reasoning: Understanding legal principles & applying logically to factual situations.
- Logical Reasoning: Analytical reasoning, argument evaluation, assumptions, conclusions, cause-effect relationships.
- Quantitative Techniques: Basic numerical skills like percentages, ratios, averages, profit & loss, interest calculations, data interpretation.
