About UCEED 2026

The Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination for Design (UCEED) 2026 is a national-level entrance examination conducted for admission to the Bachelor of Design (BDes) programs offered by participating IITs and result-sharing institutes.

UCEED 2026 is organized by IIT Bombay under the guidance of the UCEED–CEED Implementation Committee.

UCEED is the mandatory qualifying exam for BDes admissions at IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad, IIT Indore, IIT Roorkee, and IIITDM Jabalpur .

Several other institutes also use UCEED scores for undergraduate design admissions.

• Drawing and problem-solving skills

• Registration Start: 01 Oct 2025 (01:00 PM)
• Last Date (Regular Fee): 31 Oct 2025
• Last Date (Late Fee): 07 Nov 2025 (05:00 PM)
• Admit Card: 02 Jan 2026
• Exam Date: 18 Jan 2026 (09:00 AM – 12:00 Noon)
• Results: 06 Mar 2026

BDes application portal will remain open from 14 March 2026 to 10 April 2026 .

Seat allotment rounds will be conducted between April to July 2026 .

Late submissions are not accepted. Candidates must follow deadlines strictly.

Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit

• OPEN / EWS / OBC-NCL: Born on or after 01 Oct 2001
• SC / ST / PwD: Born on or after 01 Oct 1996

Attempts

• Maximum 2 attempts
• Attempts must be consecutive

Qualifying Exam

• Appeared in Class 12 in 2025 or 2026
• All streams eligible (Science, Commerce, Arts)
• Class 12 passed in 2024 or earlier → Not eligible

UCEED 2026 Exam Pattern

Total Duration: 3 Hours

Part A (CBT): 2 Hours | 200 Marks

• NAT – 14 Questions
• MSQ – 15 Questions
• MCQ – 28 Questions

Part B (Drawing & Design):

• Duration: 1 Hour
• Total Marks: 100
• Sketching-based question
• Design aptitude question

Part B is evaluated manually by expert examiners.

• SC: 15%
• ST: 7.5%
• PwD: 5% (Horizontal)

Registration Fee

• All other Indian candidates: ₹4,000
