A.B. Shetty Memorial Institute of Dental Sciences (ABSMIDS), Mangalore, is one of the top-ranked dental colleges in India, established in 1985. It's a constituent college of NITTE (Deemed to be University) and sits within the Medical Sciences Complex at Deralakatte, Mangaluru, spread across a large 49-acre campus with a 425-chair teaching hospital attached.

Since ABSMIDS is a deemed university, admission runs through MCC, not state counselling.

Note: MCC counselling for deemed universities runs across Round 1, Round 2, a Mop-Up Round, and a Stray Vacancy Round - the first three conducted online by MCC, while Stray Vacancy is handled directly by the university. The BDS programme typically starts in the first week of August.
