Amrita CSAP Admission
Centralised Seat Allotment Process • Official Admission & Seat Allotment Handbook • Academic Year: 2026-27
Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham conducts admissions to its B.Tech programmes through a Centralised Seat Allotment Process (CSAP).
CSAP is the official admission mechanism through which candidates are allotted seats based on their AEEE 2026 rank or JEE Main 2026 percentile, preferences submitted, and availability of seats.
✔ The entire admission process is conducted online • ✔ All counselling activities handled through the CSAP system • ✔ Candidates are not required to visit any campus physically at any stage
Age Criteria:
• Candidates should be born on or after 1st July, 2005
• Only candidates fulfilling this age requirement are eligible
Educational Qualification:
• Must have passed 10+2 (Class XII) or an equivalent examination
• Qualifying examination must include:
• Mathematics
• Physics
• Chemistry
| Condition | Requirement |
|---|---|
| Aggregate (PCM combined) | Minimum 60% |
| Physics (individual) | Minimum 50% |
| Chemistry (individual) | Minimum 50% |
| Mathematics (individual) | Minimum 50% |
⚠️ Both conditions must be satisfied simultaneously. Failing either → ineligible for admission
Admission is based on candidate's performance in:
• AEEE 2026 Rank, OR
• JEE Main 2026 Percentile
If both scores are available:
• Candidates may submit both AEEE 2026 Rank & JEE Main 2026 Percentile
• The highest percentile (best score) will be considered
• If two JEE Main sessions: Enter highest percentile
📌 Seat allotment is fully based on the best rank/percentile among the two
| Category | Seat Share |
|---|---|
| AEEE 2026 Rank Candidates | 70% |
| JEE Main 2026 Percentile Candidates | 30% |
Flexibility: A candidate can:
• Apply through AEEE 2026 Rank, OR
• Apply through JEE Main 2026 Percentile, OR
• Choose both options — best rank/percentile used for allotment
The B.Tech fee structure is differential and merit-based, determined using AEEE 2026 Rank or JEE Main 2026 Percentile. Fee is categorized into Scholarship Fees (Slab 1, 2, 3) and Regular Fees (Slab 4, 5). Lower slabs = higher scholarship (lower fees).

Scholarship Fee Slabs 1, 2, and 3 are applicable only for the first academic year (2026-27). Continuation is not automatic - renewal depends on meeting prescribed academic and conduct conditions.
All candidates must:
• Maintain required CGPA (Cumulative Grade Point Average)
• Have no disciplinary action during the course
• Clear every semester without arrears
👉 If these conditions are not satisfied, the student:
• Will be moved to a higher fee slab
• Will have to pay revised fees based on CGPA in subsequent years
Required: CGPA ≥ 7.0 • No disciplinary issues • No arrears
| CGPA Range | Outcome |
|---|---|
| CGPA ≥ 7.0 | Same Slab 1 continues |
| CGPA 6.5 – 7.0 | Shift to Slab 2 |
| CGPA 6.0 – 6.5 | Shift to Slab 3 |
| CGPA < 6.0 | Shift to Slab 4 |
Required: CGPA ≥ 6.5 • No disciplinary issues • No arrears
| CGPA Range | Outcome |
|---|---|
| CGPA ≥ 6.5 | Same Slab 2 continues |
| CGPA 6.0 – 6.5 | Shift to Slab 3 |
| CGPA < 6.0 | Shift to Slab 4 |
Required: CGPA ≥ 6.0 • No disciplinary issues • No arrears
| CGPA Range | Outcome |
|---|---|
| CGPA ≥ 6.0 | Same Slab 3 continues |
| CGPA < 6.0 | Shift to Slab 4 |
⚠️ Important Rule: If a student moves to a higher fee slab due to poor performance → 👉 They cannot return to the previous (lower) slab, even if CGPA improves in future years • Scholarship is performance-linked, not permanent • Fee liability can increase year by year if CGPA drops • Maintaining CGPA is financially critical

🔑 Key Strategic Insights:
CSAP is a highly strategic process. Key decisions:
1. Preference order — Wrong order = miss better branches
2. Fee slab selection — Too low = reduce allotment chances
3. Upgrade vs Non-upgrade — Poor decision = lose better seat
• Legal jurisdiction: Coimbatore District, Tamil Nadu courts only
Category 1: Fully Satisfied (Allotted top preference or Slab 1)
• Action: ACCEPT + CONFIRM
• Pay: Full fees + Caution deposit
• Result: Exit CSAP process
Category 2: Other Allotted Candidates
• Option 1 — UPGRADE: Move to higher preference (1st → 2nd → etc.) within selected fee slab
• Option 2 — NON-UPGRADE: Stay in same branch; try for better fee slab
• Payment: ₹1,00,000 (partial tuition fee) → Eligible for next round
Category 3: Not Allotted
• Can modify preferences
• Participate in Round 2
• Registration reopens 2 days before Round 2
Eligible Candidates:
1. Upgrade / Non-upgrade candidates from Round 1
2. Newly registered candidates
3. Not allotted candidates
📌 Rules:
• If allotted: Pay full / remaining fees
• If NOT paid: Admission cancelled; Removed from CSAP
⚠️ Critical Conditions:
• Upgrade Success → Previous seat Lost permanently
• Upgrade Failure → Previous seat Retained
• Cannot move to lower preference (if allotted 5th → cannot go to 6th)
Fee Adjustments:
• If upgraded: Pay difference
• If excess paid: Refund OR adjust next year fees
Conducted If: Vacancies remain after Round 2
Eligible Candidates:
