About the College

Bharati Vidyapeeth Dental College and Hospital, Sangli, was established in 2007-08 by Dr. Patangrao Kadam, to meet the growing demand for dental education in the region. It's one of three dental college campuses run under Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University) - the others being in Pune and Navi Mumbai - and is housed in a 2 lakh sq. ft. building.

The college is recognised by the Dental Council of India, and the campus is equipped with 150+ dental chairs, with each student getting an uninterrupted working area under close faculty supervision across all specialties. It's closely associated with the 750-bed, hi-tech, super-specialty Bharati Hospital on the same campus, which has 11 state-of-the-art operation theatres - giving dental patients requiring major surgery access to that level of care.

Since this is a deemed university college, BDS admission goes through the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), not Maharashtra state counselling. Seats are offered under All India Quota / Deemed University quota, along with Management and NRI quota. Note that MDS across all nine specialties is only offered at the Pune campus - Sangli offers a more limited MDS spread.

Why Choose This College?

Hospital Backing

Direct access to the 750-bed, multi-specialty Bharati Hospital on the same campus means dental students see real surgical and trauma cases alongside routine dental practice โ€” a meaningful advantage over standalone dental colleges.

Individual Clinical Space

With 150+ dental chairs and a design that gives each student a dedicated working area, clinical training here is closely supervised rather than crowded.

Part of a Larger Network

Being one of three BVDU dental campuses means students benefit from the group's broader reputation, though full nine-specialty MDS remains concentrated at the Pune campus.

Reservation Policy

The college provides OBC reservation, which is worth knowing if that applies to you.

After BDS

Graduates typically move into private practice, hospital roles, further studies (MDS), teaching, research, or public health work.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Passed Class 12 (or equivalent) with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English as compulsory subjects, with at least 50% aggregate marks
  • Must have qualified NEET-UG, conducted by NTA
  • Should be at least 17 years old by December 31 of the admission year
  • NRI, OCI, PIO, and foreign national applicants are also eligible, subject to NRI category documentation and sponsorship norms

Note: The minimum age rule has seen legal changes in recent years, so it's worth checking the latest NDC/DCI notification.
