Note:Β NEET UG 2026 was conducted as a re-exam on 21st June 2026 after the original May exam was cancelled; the result and official qualifying cutoff above were released by NTA on 16th July 2026. Clearing this qualifying cutoff only makes a candidate eligible for counselling β it does not guarantee a government MBBS/BDS seat. The actual closing rank/marks for admission in Bihar will depend on seat availability, category and competition during UGMAC 2026 counselling.
Category Selection During Application:
At the time of admission based on the NEET (UG) 2026 merit list, candidates must select the correct reservation category in the UGMAC-2026 online application as per their valid caste certificate. At the national level, candidates who fall under OBC (Other Backward Class) are recognized in Bihar as BC (Backward Class) or EBC (Extremely Backward Class). Therefore, candidates must carefully choose either BC or EBC, depending on the category they belong to, instead of marking OBC directly.
Reservation Quota as per Bihar Government Policy:
Only those candidates who are permanent residents of Bihar and possess a valid caste certificate issued by a competent authority in Bihar are eligible for reservation benefits. The Bihar NEET UG counselling reservation will be applied institution-wise as per the state's reservation policy. Below is the seat reservation distribution (as per the last notified policy; candidates should verify against the UGMAC 2026 prospectus):
S.No. | Category | Percentage of Reserved Seats |
1 | Scheduled Caste (SC) | 16% |
2 | Scheduled Tribe (ST) | 1% |
3 | Extremely Backward Class (EBC) | 18% |
4 | Backward Class (BC) | 12% |
5 | Reserved Category Girls (RCG) | 3% |
6 | Economically Weaker Section (EWS) | 10% |
