The Chhattisgarh NEET UG 2026 counselling, conducted by the Directorate of Medical Education (DME), oversees admissions to MBBS and BDS courses across the state. Covering 85% of the state quota seats in both government and private medical colleges, this counselling is the only official route for eligible candidates. As per the official notice issued by the Commissioner, Medical Education, Raipur on 07.08.2026, the procedure includes online registration, payment of fees, document verification, and choice filling. Allotment is based on NEET UG rank, preferences, reservation criteria, and seat availability, giving students opportunities across Chhattisgarh’s reputed medical colleges.

Eligibility Criteria of Chhattisgarh NEET UG Counselling 2026

To participate, candidates must qualify for NEET UG 2026 and fulfil Chhattisgarh domicile norms (except for NRI/management quota seats).

• Must qualify NEET UG 2026 with the required cutoff percentile.
• Must be a citizen of India and possess a valid Chhattisgarh domicile certificate (except for NRI/management quota).
• Completion of Class 12 with PCB and English is mandatory.
• Minimum marks required:
  • General: 50%
  • OBC/SC/ST: 40%

• Candidate must be 17 years old by December 31, 2026.

Chhattisgarh NEET UG Counselling 2026: Round-wise Schedule

The counselling will be held in four major rounds: Round 1, Round 2, Mop-Up, and Stray Vacancy. Each round has its own set of deadlines for registration, choice filling, allotment, and reporting. Round 1 and Round 2 dates below are as per the official notices issued by the Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Chhattisgarh. Mop-Up and Stray Vacancy Round dates for 2026 have not been announced yet and will be updated here as soon as DME releases them.

Round 1 Schedule (Official – 2026)

Round 1 is the main round, during which most government and private college seats are allotted. Candidates can choose colleges, lock choices, and get seats based on their NEET rank.

Note: Round 1 schedule (Tentative, Approved by CME) is as officially notified by the Directorate of Medical Education, Chhattisgarh on 07.08.2026.

Round 2 Schedule (Official – 2026)

Round 2 for 2026 has been officially notified by the Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Chhattisgarh — first via the institution-selection notice dated 04.09.2026, and subsequently via the admission-list notice dated 14.09.2026. In this round, Round 1 admitted candidates seeking upgradation as well as new eligible candidates can register and select institutions; seat allotment is based on fresh preferences and available seats.

Note: Candidates admitted in Round 1 who wish to upgrade must first log in to the portal and submit their consent before selecting institutions for Round 2. Candidates whose seat is retained (no upgradation) do not need to participate again in this round. Candidates who receive an upgraded allotment must report to their newly allotted institute for scrutiny.

Round 2 Scrutiny Centres (2026)

For all Government Medical Colleges and the Government Dental College, scrutiny and admission are conducted at the respective allotted institute itself. For Private Medical and Private Dental Colleges, scrutiny is conducted at designated government institutes as detailed below.

Important Notes (Round 2):

• As per Rule 7(viii) of the Chhattisgarh Medical, Dental & Physiotherapy UG Admission Rules 2025, allotted candidates must report to their allotted institute for document scrutiny within the notified last date; failing this, the candidate will automatically be excluded from the current academic session's counselling and admission process.
• Admission is mandatory at Government Medical Colleges. It is not mandatory at Private Medical Colleges/Private Dental Colleges — however, scrutiny is mandatory for all allotted candidates regardless of the institute type.
• If an allotted candidate does not take admission, or takes admission and later vacates the seat, in Round 2 or any subsequent round, the deposited registration/security amount will be forfeited, as per the Office of Commissioner, Medical Education notice dated 07.08.2026.

Mop-Up Round (2026 – To Be Announced)

The Mop-Up Round is for leftover seats after Round 2, mainly in private medical and dental colleges. This round is crucial for students who missed out earlier or didn’t join their allotted seats. 2026 dates are awaited; the table below shows last year’s (2025) pattern for reference only.

Stray Vacancy Round (2026 – To Be Announced)

 Candidates seeking MBBS admission in Chhattisgarh should carefully understand the applicable service bond rules before participating in the counselling process. The bond policy is applicable as per the Government of Chhattisgarh and the competent counselling authority. 

Note: Candidates admitted to MBBS courses in Chhattisgarh are required to complete a 1-year compulsory service bond. Failure to fulfill the service bond or discontinuation of the MBBS course may attract a penalty of ₹25 lakhs for General category candidates and ₹20 lakhs for Reserved category candidates, as per the prevailing Chhattisgarh Medical, Dental & Physiotherapy (Rule 503/30/2025/Med.) admission rules, 2025. Candidates should verify the latest official notification before participating in the counselling process.

Chhattisgarh NEET Counselling Fee & Security Deposit (2026)

Candidates need to pay a non-refundable application fee and a refundable registration/security deposit amount. As per the official 2026 Round 1 notice, the security deposit table is published separately on the Board’s website/notice; candidates should verify the latest figures before payment.
