The Common Nursing Entrance Test (CNET) 2026 is a state-level entrance examination conducted for admission to the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.Sc. Nursing) Course of four years duration for the Academic Session 2026β27.
The examination is conducted by Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical University (ABVMU), Uttar Pradesh, which is the designated authority responsible for organizing and administering the entrance test.
CNET 2026 has been established as a common and centralized admission mechanism for entry into B.Sc. Nursing programmes offered by various institutions across the state.
Through this system, candidates are provided with a single standardized platform to seek admission into multiple government and private nursing institutions affiliated with the University.
The entrance test is conducted for admission to the following institutions:

β’ SGPGIMS, Lucknow
β’ KGMU, Lucknow
β’ RMLIMS, Lucknow
β’ UPUMS, Saifai
β’ LLRM, Meerut
All admissions to the B.Sc. Nursing course in the above-mentioned institutions for the academic session 2026β27 shall be conducted exclusively through the Common Nursing Entrance Test (CNET).
The application process for CNET 2026 is conducted only through online mode, and candidates are required to submit their applications via the official university website. Applications submitted through any other mode will not be accepted.
The entrance examination will be conducted in offline mode and will be bilingual in nature (English and Hindi), ensuring accessibility for candidates from diverse educational backgrounds.
All admissions to B.Sc. Nursing programmes in the participating institutions will be done strictly on the basis of CNET 2026. No provision for direct admission to these institutions is permitted under any circumstances.

CNET 2026 will be conducted in multiple cities including: Agra, Aligarh, Ayodhya, Azamgarh, Bareilly, Basti, Banda, Ghaziabad, Gonda, Gorakhpur, Jhansi, Kanpur, Lucknow, Meerut, Mirzapur, Moradabad, Prayagraj, Saharanpur, Varanasi, Gautam Buddha Nagar.

β’ The minimum age for admission to the B.Sc. Nursing course is 17 years.
β’ The candidate must attain the age of 17 years on or before 31st December 2026.
Candidates seeking admission must meet the minimum educational qualifications as per the Indian Nursing Council (INC) Regulations.
β’ The candidate must have passed the 10+2 (Intermediate) examination with Science subjects, including Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (PCB), from a recognized board.
β’ The candidate must have passed English as an individual subject in the qualifying examination.
Physics, Chemistry & Biology (PCB) taken together:
β’ General Category: Minimum 45% marks
β’ SC/ST/OBC Categories: Minimum 40% marks
β’ English is a compulsory subject in the 10+2 examination for eligibility.
β’ Candidates from State Open Schools or National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) are eligible if they have studied Science subjects and English.
β’ Colour blind candidates are eligible if they use appropriate colour corrective contact lenses or spectacles.
β’ The selection is subject to medical fitness. Candidates must be declared medically fit by a Medical Board constituted by a Government Medical College or District CMO.
β’ Married candidates are also eligible to apply and seek admission.
Reservation for admission under CNET 2026 shall be implemented in accordance with the policies of the Uttar Pradesh State Government, within the limits of seats sanctioned by the Indian Nursing Council (INC) and the State Government.
Any changes in the reservation policy issued by the State Government from time to time shall be applicable and binding.
β’ A 5% horizontal reservation is applicable for PwD candidates.
β’ This applies specifically to candidates with locomotor disability of 40% to 50% of the lower extremity.
β’ Candidates must fulfill other eligibility criteria applicable to the Unreserved category.
β’ Candidates claiming reservation benefits must provide valid certificates issued by the competent authority (Tehsildar/SDM) of the Uttar Pradesh Government.
β’ All certificates must be verifiable through an official Government portal or website.
β’ OBC and EWS certificates will be considered valid only if issued on or after 1st April 2026.
β’ The Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) category may be granted 10% reservation, as per the directives of the Uttar Pradesh Government.
The following categories are also considered for reservation benefits, subject to submission of valid certificates issued by competent authorities:
β’ Dependent of Freedom Fighter (certificate issued by District Magistrate)
β’ Ex-Servicemen (certificate issued by competent authority)
β’ NCC Category: Only candidates possessing βC Certificate with Grade Bβ issued by an authorized battalion are eligible.

β’ For admission to Government Nursing Colleges, the candidate must be a domicile of Uttar Pradesh, or must have passed both 10th and 12th examinations from Uttar Pradesh.
β’ Reservation for Minority institutions and other categories will be implemented as per the norms and directives of the Government of Uttar Pradesh.
β’ Only Indian citizens are eligible for admission through CNET 2026.

The result of the Common Nursing Entrance Test (CNET) 2026 will be declared on the official website of Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical University (ABVMU), Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow.
Candidates are required to regularly visit the official website to check updates regarding the declaration of results.
β’ The result will be prepared based on the marks obtained by candidates in the entrance examination.
β’ A combined merit list as well as a category-wise merit list will be prepared by the University.
In case two or more candidates obtain equal marks, the inter-se merit will be determined in the following order:
1. Higher marks in Biology
2. Higher marks in Chemistry
3. Higher marks in Physics
4. Higher marks in Nursing Aptitude
5. Higher marks in English
6. Candidate with higher age (older candidate)
7. Higher percentage in High School (Class 10th) examination

Failure to fulfil any requirement within the stipulated time will result in cancellation of the candidateβs claim for admission.

The Online Counselling for CNET is conducted by Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical University (ABVMU), Uttar Pradesh for admission to the B.Sc. Nursing Course (4 Years).
