CUET Subject Selection 2027
Choosing the right subjects is important because each university and programme sets its own CUET subject combination. A wrong combination can make you ineligible for a course even with a high score.
Subject Selection Rules
- Candidates can select a maximum of 5 subjects (as per CUET UG 2026 rules).
- Subjects come from three groups: Languages, Domain-Specific Subjects and the General Aptitude Test.
- Application fee covers up to 3 subjects; each additional subject costs extra.
- Subject combinations are decided by the respective university for each programme.
- The General Aptitude Test is required for many programmes such as BBA/BMS and other management courses, as notified by universities.
How to Choose Your Subjects
- Shortlist your target courses and universities first.
- Check the programme-wise CUET subject requirement on each universityβs website.
- Pick subjects that cover all your shortlisted courses, so one combination works for many universities.
- Prefer subjects you studied in Class 12 and are strong in.
- Do not add extra subjects without need, as they increase the fee.
Subject list and rules for 2027 will be updated after NTA releases the information bulletin.
