Residential Requirement

Indian nationals must have:

  • Minimum 2 years education (including 11th & 12th)
  • In foreign country
  • Within last 8 years
  • Passed from abroad

Categorization of Seats and Candidates

Nature of Seats under DASA

All seats available under the DASA scheme are referred to as DASA-GEN seats. However:

  • 5% seats (within the 15% supernumerary quota) are reserved for: Children of Indian Workers in Gulf (CIWG)
  • One-third of DASA seats are reserved for CIWG.
  • These seats are referred to as CIWG seats.
  • All other DASA-GEN seats are referred to as Non-CIWG seats.

Reversion Rule

  • During Round-III: Any vacant seat out of the 5% reserved for CIWG shall revert to Non-CIWG seats.

  • Bahrain
  • Iraq
  • Iran
  • Kuwait
  • Oman
  • Qatar
  • Saudi Arabia

CIWG Eligibility Condition

To avail CIWG benefit: Either of the parents must be working or have worked till any date in the year 2025.

Candidate Categorization Based on Nationality

  • DASA (SAARC) – Foreign Nationals, OCI, PIO who are nationals of SAARC countries (except India).
  • DASA (Non-SAARC) – Foreign Nationals (non-SAARC), OCI/PIO (non-SAARC), NRI.
  • DASA-CIWG – NRI candidates whose either OR both parents are working in Gulf country listed above.

Double Tag Provision

  • NRI candidates eligible for CIWG seats may opt to be considered for Non-CIWG seats under DASA (Non-SAARC).
  • Must pay fee applicable to DASA (Non-SAARC).
  • Will see both CIWG and Non-CIWG seats as separate options.
  • If finally admitted in CIWG category, balance tuition fee will be refunded.

DASA SEAT ALLOCATION PROCESS

The DASA seat allocation process consists of the following stages:

  1. Registration
  2. Payment of DASA Enrolment Fee (DEF)
  3. Upload Documents
  4. Document Verification & Query Response
  5. Payment of Balance DEF (if applicable)
  1. Online Choice Filling and Locking
  2. Round-I
  3. Round-II
  4. Round-III
  5. Physical Reporting at Admitting Institute

Each stage is detailed below.

DASA Fee Structure

The DASA admission process follows a Single Tag and Double Tag fee structure depending on the candidate category.

ONLINE CHOICE FILLING AND LOCKING

After:

  • Successful payment of DEF
  • Successful document verification

The candidate is permitted to fill choices of academic programs.

Important Conditions
  1. The candidate must carefully fill the choices.
  2. Choices must be saved frequently.
  3. If choices are not saved, the system will NOT auto-save.
  4. If no choice is saved, the candidate will NOT be considered for seat allocation.
  5. At least one academic program must be saved to be eligible.

All filled choices will be considered for seat allotment.

Candidates are advised to verify special eligibility conditions of academic programs before including them in their preference list.

If a candidate fails to satisfy special eligibility at the time of admission, the institute may cancel the allotted seat.


CIWG and Non-CIWG Choice Visibility

Double-tag candidates will see:

  • CIWG seats
  • Non-CIWG seats

Displayed separately for each academic program.

Single-tag DASA-CIWG candidates whose CIWG status is not established may fill Non-CIWG choices after paying balance DEF, as per Clause 27.


Locking of Choices

Candidates MUST lock their choices before the deadline.

If not manually locked:

  • Last saved choices will be automatically locked upon deadline.

If no choices saved:

  • Candidate will not be considered for allotment.

Once locked:

  • Choices cannot be edited.

If candidate wants to unlock before deadline:

  1. Submit online unlock request.
  2. OTP sent to registered mobile and email.
  3. Validate unlock request.
  4. Choices become editable.

After deadline:

  • No change allowed.
  • Cannot add, delete, or reorder choices.

Candidates must download and print locked choices.

The printout contains terms and conditions agreed by the candidate.


Mock Seat Allocation

Mock seat allocation is provided.

Candidates are advised to:

  • Choose all academic programs they are willing to join.
  • Fill preferences in correct order.

Programs not selected will not be considered for allotment.


Provisional Offer of Seat

Seat allotment results are published ONLINE only.

No separate intimation will be sent.

Seat allotment is strictly based on:

  • JEE (Main) 2025 Common Rank List (CRL)
  • Category tag
  • Preference order
  • Seat availability
  • Rules in brochure

Tie-breaking norms are NOT applied by DASA.

If two or more candidates have same CRL:

  • CRL used as provided by JEE Apex Board.

If number of candidates with same CRL exceeds available seats in a category:

  • Additional supernumerary seats will be created.
  • All such candidates will be offered seats.
Online Reporting After Seat Allotment

Candidate allocated seat must:

  1. Download “Initial Seat Allotment Intimation Slip”
  2. Exercise willingness option before deadline of that round.

Failure to complete online reporting → Seat not confirmed.


Default Willingness

If candidate does not exercise willingness:

  • Automatically moved to next round with “Float” as default.

Exception:

  • If seat allotted is first choice,
  • Default willingness becomes “Freeze”.

WILLINGNESS OPTIONS DURING THE ROUNDS

When a candidate is allotted a seat for the first time, the candidate must choose one of the following:
Freeze, Float, Slide, Surrender, Withdraw.

If not exercised: Default is Float. If first choice allotted, default is Freeze.

Freeze
  • Accepts allotted seat.
  • No participation in further rounds.
  • No upgrade considered.
  • Seat provisionally confirmed.

Once selected, cannot be changed in later rounds.

Float
  • Accepts current seat.
  • Wants higher preference across institutes.
  • If upgraded:
    • Previous seat cancelled.
    • No claim allowed.
Slide
  • Accepts current seat.
  • Upgrade within same institute only.
  • If upgraded:
    • Previous seat cancelled.

Cannot change to Float or Surrender later.

Surrender
  • Rejects allotted seat.
  • Competes for higher choices only.

Important: If previously secured seat through JoSAA and surrender chosen, earlier seat is also lost.

Surrender not available in last round.

Withdraw
  • Rejects allotted/accepted seat.
  • Will not participate further.
  • Seat cancelled.
  • Removed from allocation process.
Special Rules
  • If first preference allotted → Must Freeze.
  • Float/Slide/Surrender not shown.
  • Default Freeze if no action.
  • In last round → All seats presumed Freeze.
  • No changes allowed in final round.
📄 PHYSICAL REPORTING AT THE ADMITTING INSTITUTE

At the conclusion of the DASA seat allocation process and after seat acceptance, candidates are required to report physically at the admitting institute.

During physical reporting, candidates must:

  • Complete all admission formalities prescribed by the institute.
  • Pay the balance Institute / Admission fees, if applicable.
  • Submit original documents for verification.
  • Begin the academic session as per institute schedule.

📄 List of Documents to be Uploaded by Candidates

General Documents (Mandatory for All Candidates)

Candidates must ensure that the name of the candidate is exactly the same in:

  • Passport
  • Qualifying examination records
  • JEE (Main) 2025 result

The following documents must be uploaded during online reporting:

  • Candidate’s Passport
    • (Nationals of Nepal without passport must submit authenticated Citizenship Card copy)
  • Proof of Date of Birth
    • Class X certificate OR
    • Equivalent certificate issued by Government authorities
  • Mark Sheets of:
    • 10th Standard
    • 11th Standard
    • 12th Standard (or equivalent)
  • Certificate from School authorities (format in Annexure 11)
    • As proof of completion of 11th and 12th standard
  • Percentage/CGPA equivalence certificate
    • Required if CGPA scale differs OR only grades are awarded
  • Proof of two years of education (11th and 12th) in foreign country (for NRI candidates)
    • School leaving certificate / Mark sheets / Study Certificate (Annexure 13 format)
  • Medical Certificate (specified format provided in brochure)
  • OCI Certificate / PIO Card (if applicable)

Additional Documents for CIWG Category Candidates

In addition to above documents, CIWG candidates must upload:

  • Copy of passport of parent working in Gulf
  • Copy of Parent’s Visa (valid on any date in 2025)
  • Copy of Parent’s Work Permit (valid on any date in 2025)
  • Certificate from company/organization (format in Annexure 12)
    • Proof that parent is working OR worked till any date in 2025 in Gulf country

If Class XII Result Not Yet Declared

Candidate must upload undertaking (Annexure 14 format) stating:

  • Final results will be submitted on or before 30 September 2025

Eligible candidates who appeared/are appearing in 2023-24 or 2024-25 academic year can apply.
