The Direct Admission of Students Abroad (DASA) 2026 scheme enables Foreign Nationals, NRIs, OCIs, and eligible CIWG candidates to seek admission to undergraduate Engineering, Architecture, and Planning programmes offered by participating institutes in India. Admissions are conducted through the CSAB portal and are based on the JEE Main 2026 Common Rank List (CRL).

1. Registration: Login at csab.nic.in using JEE Main 2026 credentials
2. Payment of DEF: Pay online via Debit / Credit / Net Banking / UPI / e-challan
3. Document Upload: Upload all required documents (see Documents section)
4. Document Verification: Respond to queries by verifying officer within deadline
5. Balance DEF: Pay if CIWG candidate upgrading to Non-SAARC tag
6. Choice Filling & Locking: Fill and lock preferred college and programme choices
7. Mock Allocation: Review mock allotment; adjust choices if needed
8. Round I Allotment: Seats allocated; exercise willingness option
9. Round II Allotment: Final round; all allotments auto-accepted (Freeze default)
10. Physical Reporting: Report to allotted institute with original documents and pay balance fee

Tuition Fee Refund Rules:
β’ Full refund: No seat allotted / candidature cancelled in doc verification / Withdraw before Round I

β’ Non-refundable always: Registration fee of US$ 300
β’ The entire process is online and computer-operated β no time extensions possible

β’ Unsaved choices are NOT auto-saved; at least one saved choice required for allotment
β’ JoSAA 2026 seat holders (NIT+ system) can participate in DASA as fresh candidates; if new seat allotted, JoSAA seat automatically cancelled
β’ Foreign nationals must obtain valid student visa from Indian Missions using provisional admission letter
β’ English is the medium of instruction at all institutes
