π DASA 2026 Counselling

The Direct Admission of Students Abroad (DASA) 2026 scheme enables Foreign Nationals, NRIs, OCIs, and eligible CIWG candidates to seek admission to undergraduate Engineering, Architecture, and Planning programmes offered by participating institutes in India. Admissions are conducted through the CSAB portal and are based on the JEE Main 2026 Common Rank List (CRL).

β’ Nationality: Foreign National / OCI / PIO / NRI
β’ Age: Born on or after October 1, 2001
β’ Class XII with Physics, Mathematics + one of Chemistry / Biotechnology / CS / Biology
β’ Minimum: 75% marks or 7.5 CGPA (10-point scale) in aggregate of 5 subjects
β’ Valid JEE Main 2026 scorecard mandatory
β’ NRI candidates: minimum 2 years of education (11th + 12th) in a foreign country within last 8 years
β’ Results awaited candidates may apply; submit final results by September 30, 2026

π DASA 2026 Counselling Process β Step by Step
π Process Steps
1. Registration: Login at csab.nic.in using JEE Main 2026 credentials
2. Payment of DEF: Pay online via Debit / Credit / Net Banking / UPI / e-challan
3. Document Upload: Upload all required documents (see Documents section)
4. Document Verification: Respond to queries by verifying officer within deadline
5. Balance DEF: Pay if CIWG candidate upgrading to Non-SAARC tag
6. Choice Filling & Locking: Fill and lock preferred college and programme choices
7. Mock Allocation: Review mock allotment; adjust choices if needed
8. Round I Allotment: Seats allocated; exercise willingness option
9. Round II Allotment: Final round; all allotments auto-accepted (Freeze default)
10. Physical Reporting: Report to allotted institute with original documents and pay balance fee

| Float | Accept seat; upgrade to higher preference in any institute if available in next round. |
| Slide | Accept seat; upgrade to higher preference within same institute only. |
| Surrender | Reject current seat; re-enter next round from higher choices only. |
| Withdraw | Reject seat and exit DASA entirely. No further rounds considered. |
| Exit | For candidates with no seat allotted; voluntarily exit the process. |
Default willingness = Float. If allotted 1st choice, default = Freeze.

Tuition Fee Refund Rules:
β’ Full refund: No seat allotted / candidature cancelled in doc verification / Withdraw before Round I

β’ No refund: Did not physically report / fake documents / seat allotted in last round
β’ Non-refundable always: Registration fee of US$ 300

β’ The entire process is online and computer-operated β no time extensions possible
β’ Check portal regularly for queries β no separate intimation will be sent
β’ Unsaved choices are NOT auto-saved; at least one saved choice required for allotment
β’ JoSAA 2026 seat holders (NIT+ system) can participate in DASA as fresh candidates; if new seat allotted, JoSAA seat automatically cancelled
β’ Foreign nationals must obtain valid student visa from Indian Missions using provisional admission letter
β’ English is the medium of instruction at all institutes
