About the College

Dr. D.Y. Patil Dental College and Hospital (DYPDCH), Pune, was founded in 2000 as part of the larger D.Y. Patil Group of Institutions, and is located at Sant Tukaram Nagar, Pimpri, Pune. It's a constituent college of Dr. D.Y. Patil Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University), which itself was established by the UGC in 2003.

The college is recognised by the Dental Council of India, the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, and the Malaysian Dental Council. It's consistently ranked among India's top dental colleges - 3rd nationally by NIRF and 1st in Maharashtra by IIRF in 2023 - and offers high-tech labs, clinics, and a well-stocked library across its campus.

Quota Note: Since DYPDCH is a deemed university college, BDS admission goes through the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), not Maharashtra state counselling. Out of the 100 BDS seats, 15 are reserved under NRI/Foreign Nationals/Management quota, with the rest filled through the All India Quota / Deemed University quota.

Eligibility Criteria for BDS

• Passed Class 12 (or equivalent) with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English as compulsory subjects
• General category candidates need at least 50% aggregate in PCB
• Must have qualified NEET-UG, conducted by NTA
• Should be at least 17 years old by December 31 of the admission year
• NRI, OCI, PIO, and foreign national applicants are also eligible, subject to NRI category documentation and sponsorship norms

Admission Process

Since DYPDCH is a deemed university college, admission runs through MCC, not state counselling.

Note: MCC counselling for deemed universities runs across Round 1, Round 2, a Mop-Up Round, and a Stray Vacancy Round. NRI category candidates need to mail their application and documents separately to open an NRI portal for verification.
