The Government Medical College Ratnagiri is a premier medical institution in the state of Maharashtra. It was established in 2023 with the mission of providing quality medical education and training to students from all backgrounds. The college is affiliated to the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (MUHS) and is recognized by the National Medical Commission (NMC). The college offers a 5-year MBBS program that is taught by a team of experienced and qualified faculty. The curriculum is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the medical sciences and to prepare them for a career in medicine.
approval has been given to establish a new Government Medical College ( Government Medical College ) with an admission capacity of 100 students and a 430-bed district hospital ( Ratnagiri District Hospital ) by upgrading the district general hospital attached to the college . This approval was given in the Cabinet meeting held on Wednesday and Chief Minister Eknath Shinde presided over this meeting. The cabinet has given approval to start a new government medical college in Ratnagiri with an enrollment capacity of 100 students from next year. For this purpose, a fund of 522 crores has been approved and the proposal will be sent to Delhi for permission, the new minister Uday Samant informed.
