✈ Invitation & Visa Process

Most foreign nationals require:

Visa process timeline:

• Not later than 40 days before planned arrival

Passport validity requirement:

• Must be valid at least 18 months for invitation
• Must be valid at least 6 months from new visa start date during extension

Invitation type used: Regular Electronic Invitation, issued by Ministry of Interior upon university request.

Validity: 15–90 calendar days (for initial visa issuance).

Important: Invitation is not a visa. You must apply for student visa at Russian Consulate.

International students from visa countries (including India) must enroll under student visa issued based on Sechenov University invitation. Tourist, business, private, or another institution’s student visa must be cancelled before enrollment.

🛂 Visa Extension During Studies

Students can extend:

• Single-entry visa
• Multiple-entry visa

Extension allows lawful stay for 1 month to 1 year.

Application window:

• Not earlier than 50 days before expiry
• Not later than 40 days before expiry

• Passport copy (all stamped pages)
• Visa copy
• Completed visa application form
• Registration copy (both sides)
• Migration card copy

You must apply for new registration. After receiving a new visa, you must extend registration immediately (next working day).
