Karnataka NEET UG Counselling 2026
The Karnataka NEET UG Counselling 2026 is conducted by the Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) for admission to MBBS and BDS courses under the state quota seats in government, private, and minority medical and dental colleges across the state. This counselling process is exclusively for students who have qualified NEET UG 2026 and wish to pursue their undergraduate medical education in Karnataka.
KEA has completed Round 1, Round 2 and Round 3 of UGNEET 2026 seat allotment and has now announced the Online Stray Vacancy Round for medical and dental seats. New registration for the Stray Vacancy Round is open from 13 October to 16 October 2026, and fresh option entry will run from 16 October (11:00 AM) to 19 October 2026 (9:00 AM).
π’ Latest KEA Update β UG NEET 2026 Stray Vacancy Round
KEA has released the notice for the UGNEET 2026 Online Stray Vacancy Round (notice dated 8 October 2026). Medical seats that remained unfilled after Round 3 were published on the KEA website on 8 October 2026 (no dental seats remain unallotted). New registration is open from 13 to 16 October 2026, and fresh option entry will be held from 16 October 2026 (11:00 AM) to 19 October 2026 (9:00 AM). The Stray Vacancy Round seat allotment result date is yet to be announced.
π Stray Vacancy Round: New Registration 13 β 16 October 2026
Candidates who have qualified NEET UG 2026 but have not yet registered with KEA, or have not completed the registration process, can register, pay the fee, download the verification slip and take part in option entry during the Stray Vacancy Round. New registration is not required for candidates who already have a verification slip.
Options entered in earlier rounds will not be considered; fresh option entry is required for the Stray Vacancy Round.

Registration for Karnataka NEET UG Counselling 2026
The main registration window for Karnataka NEET UG Counselling 2026 (5 July β 30 July 2026, extended) was open on the KEA official portal. During registration, candidates were required to:

Stray Vacancy Round: Candidates who qualified NEET UG 2026 but have not registered with KEA, or have not completed registration, can register again from 13 October to 16 October 2026, pay the fee, download the verification slip and pay the medical course fee/caution deposit to take part in option entry.

KEA UGNEET 2026 Stray Vacancy Round Notice Released (8 October 2026)
Medical seats unfilled after the 3rd round of seat allotment have been published on the KEA website. No dental seats remain unallotted. These seats will be offered in the Stray Vacancy Round along with seats that are cancelled or forfeited, and seats of candidates who do not take admission before the last date after Round 3.
Stray Vacancy Round Schedule
New registration: 13 October β 16 October 2026. Fresh option entry: 16 October 2026 (11:00 AM) to 19 October 2026 (9:00 AM). The seat allotment result date will be announced by KEA.
Round 3 Seat Allotment Result Released
The provisional UGNEET 2026 Round 3 seat allotment result was published on 3 October 2026. Candidates holding both an MCC seat and a KEA seat could use Choice-4 / seat cancellation up to 5 October 2026 (12:00 noon).
Round 2 Seat Allotment Result Released
Round 2 option entry was held from 7 September (2:00 PM) to 9 September 2026 (2:00 PM). The provisional result was published on 11 September 2026 and a revised provisional result on 15 September 2026.

Note: Candidates who secure a seat under All India Quota Round 3 and also a KEA Round 3 seat can retain the KEA seat only by submitting a written request within one day of the provisional result, as per the KEA notice.

Stray Vacancy Round β Eligibility & Ineligibility
Eligibility
- Only candidates who have not been allotted a medical seat in any round of seat allotment through KEA are eligible for medical seat allotment.
- Candidates who selected a dental seat may participate only for medical seats (subject to payment of the medical course fee).
- Candidates who qualified NEET 2026 but have not registered with KEA, or have not completed registration, may register from 13 to 16 October 2026.
Ineligibility
- Candidates who selected and reported for a seat during the first three rounds under All India Quota, Deemed Universities or any other institution/board, as well as candidates allotted a seat in MCCβs fourth round, are not eligible for the UGNEET medical Stray Vacancy Round.
- Candidates who have been allotted a medical seat in any round through KEA are not eligible for the Stray Vacancy Round.

The Karnataka NEET UG 2026 merit list is prepared by KEA based on the NEET 2026 scores of candidates who registered and completed document verification successfully. The merit list includes:

Karnataka NEET UG Choice Filling & Option Entry
Eligible candidates can participate in option entry, where they can:
- Log in to their KEA portal
- Select preferred colleges and courses in the order of priority
- Save and lock their choices within the given deadline
For the Stray Vacancy Round, fresh option entry is mandatory (16 October 11:00 AM to 19 October 9:00 AM). Candidates should research seat availability, previous round cutoffs, and college preferences before locking their options.
Karnataka NEET UG Seat Allotment Result 2026
KEA publishes the Karnataka NEET UG seat allotment result for each round based on:

- Availability of seats
The result is available in the form of a PDF and candidate login. Candidates can check the allotted course and college, and proceed with further steps.
Allotment Letter & Reporting to College
Once allotted a seat, candidates must:
- Download the provisional allotment letter from the KEA portal
- Pay the admission fee as instructed
- Report to the allotted medical/dental college within the specified time
- Carry original documents for final verification at the college
- Confirm admission by completing institutional formalities
Failure to report within the given time may result in the cancellation of the allotted seat.

Karnataka NEET UG Counselling 2026 Eligibility Criteria
General Eligibility
- The candidate must be a citizen of India.
- Must have qualified NEET UG 2026.
- Must be registered with KEA UGCET 2026 within the official registration window.
Eligibility for Government Quota Seats
- Study-Based Eligibility
- Must have passed Class 10 and Class 12 from recognized institutions located in Karnataka.
- Or, the candidate must have studied for a minimum of 7 years in recognized educational institutions in Karnataka.
- Parental Study-Based Eligibility
- Candidate must have passed Class 11 and Class 12 from Karnataka.
- Either parent should have studied in Karnataka for a minimum of 7 years.
- Linguistic Minority Eligibility
- The candidate or one of the parents must have Kannada, Tulu, or Kodava as their mother tongue.
- The parent must be a domicile of Karnataka.
Other Eligibility Criteria
- Eligibility for NRI/Management Quota Seats
- Must be NEET UG 2026 qualified.
- KEA registration is mandatory.
- Must provide valid documentary proof as per KEA and NMC guidelines.
- Age Limit
- Candidate must be at least 17 years old as on 31st December 2026.
- Academic Qualification
- Must have passed Class 12 or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English.
- Must have secured:
- Minimum 50% marks in PCB (for General category),
- 40% for SC/ST/OBC, and
- 45% for PwD candidates.
