About the College

KLE V.K. Institute of Dental Sciences (formerly KLE Society's Dental College & Hospital), Belagavi, was set up in August 1985 under the KLE Society, inside the sprawling 113-acre Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College (JNMC) campus in Nehru Nagar, Belagavi. It was initially affiliated with Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, and since 2006 has functioned as a constituent college of KLE Academy of Higher Education and Research (KAHER), Deemed to be University.

The college is recognised by the Dental Council of India and accredited NAAC A+. It's ranked 29th in India's dental category by NIRF 2025, and the attached KLES Dr. Prabhakar Kore Hospital & MRC gives students a large, active hospital network for clinical training.

Quota Note: Since KLE VK Institute is a deemed university, BDS admission goes through the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), not Karnataka state counselling. Seats are offered under All India Quota / Deemed University quota, along with Management and NRI quota.

• Passed Class 12 (or equivalent) with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English as compulsory subjects
• General category candidates need at least 50% aggregate in PCB
• Must have qualified NEET-UG, conducted by NTA
• Should be at least 17 years old by December 31 of the admission year
• NRI, OCI, PIO, and foreign national applicants are also eligible, subject to NRI category documentation and sponsorship norms

Since KLE VK Institute is a deemed university, admission runs through MCC, not state counselling.

Note: MCC counselling for deemed universities runs across Round 1, Round 2, a Mop-Up Round, and a Stray Vacancy Round. The first three rounds are conducted online by MCC, while the Stray Vacancy round is handled directly by the university.
