The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has officially released the NEET-MDS 2026 Counselling Schedule for admission to MDS seats across dental colleges in India under the All India Quota (AIQ)/Deemed & Central Universities, as well as for State Counselling authorities. The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) is conducting NEET MDS 2026 counselling in four rounds — Round 1, Round 2, Round 3, and the Stray Vacancy Round. Below is the complete official round-wise schedule for both AIQ/Deemed/Central Universities and State Counselling:

Note: For ensuring faithful adherence to the time schedule, and given the limited time available for conducting counselling, all participating institutes/colleges have been directed to treat all Saturdays/Sundays and Gazetted Holidays as working days. Data of joined candidates is shared by DMEs/State Counselling Authorities with MCC to weed out duplicate admissions during seat processing of Round 3 and subsequent rounds.

NEET MDS 2026 Counselling: Eligibility Criteria

To participate in the NEET MDS 2026 counselling process, candidates must meet the following eligibility requirements:

• Educational Qualification: Must have completed a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) from a college recognized by the Dental Council of India (DCI)/National Medical Commission (NMC) framework.
• NEET MDS Exam: Must have appeared for and qualified the NEET MDS 2026 examination.
• Internship Completion: Must have completed the one-year compulsory rotatory internship by the stipulated cut-off date as notified for the 2026 cycle.

NEET MDS 2026 Cutoff

Candidates must score equal to or above the NEET MDS 2026 cutoff marks to be eligible for the counselling rounds. The official category-wise cutoff for NEET MDS 2026 is released by the National Board of Examinations (NBE). The table below shows last year’s (NEET MDS 2025) cutoff pattern for reference; candidates should verify the confirmed 2026 cutoff on the NBE/MCC website.

NEET MDS 2026 Counselling Process

Step-by-Step Counselling Procedure:

1. Online Registration on MCC portal (AIQ/Deemed/Central Universities) or respective State Counselling portal.
2. Payment of Fees (Non-refundable and refundable security deposit).
3. Choice Filling & Locking of MDS courses and colleges.
4. Seat Allotment Result declaration.
5. Reporting to Allotted College with required documents by the last date of joining.
6. Upgrade Option available in subsequent rounds as per MCC rules; resignation rules apply as per the official 2026 information bulletin.

Reservation Policy for AIQ MDS Seats

• SC – 15%
• ST – 7.5%
• OBC (NCL) – 27%
• EWS – 10%
• PwD – 5% horizontal reservation (as per NMC/DCI norms)

Deemed University MDS Counselling

• 100% seats are filled through MCC counselling.
• NRI quota available in Deemed Universities.
• No category-based reservation (except institutional minority status if applicable).
• Documents required to convert Indian to NRI category must be submitted as per MCC notice.

Central University MDS Admission (DU, AMU, BHU)

• 50% AIQ + 50% Institutional Quota
• DU internal quota: BDS from DU
• AMU internal quota: BDS from AMU
• BHU internal quota: BDS from IMS-BHU

Armed Forces Medical Services (AFMS)

• Priority-based seat allotment (Priority III to V)
• Final admission after medical examination at allotted AFMS institute
