Petre Shotadze Tbilisi Medical Academy (TMA) – MD Program (English Medium)

Petre Shotadze Tbilisi Medical Academy (TMA) offers a single-level Medical Doctor (MD) educational program designed according to modern international medical education standards. Enrollment of foreign citizens and Georgian citizens residing abroad is carried out according to Order #224 of the Minister of Education and Science of Georgia (December 29, 2011).

The MD program is developed based on:

  • β†’ World Federation for Medical Education (WFME) standards
  • β†’ CanMEDS 2015 Physician Competency Framework
  • β†’ European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS)

The program is designed to train qualified physicians who can meet the responsibilities and competencies expected of modern doctors in society.

The program follows international medical education standards and prepares graduates for professional medical careers through a combination of basic sciences, clinical sciences, and practical specialization training.

🧬Years I – III: Basic, Behavioral and Social Sciences

During the first three years, students focus on:

  • β†’ Behavioral and social sciences relevant to healthcare
  • β†’ Core scientific knowledge required for clinical medicine

This phase builds the foundation for understanding human biology, disease mechanisms, and the scientific principles of medicine.

In the fourth and fifth years, the program focuses on:
